~The Song Only They Can Hear~
Dolls littered every shelf and some spilled onto the floor, surrounding the only living creature around the room. But he paid them no mind, for his thoughts were all towards the girl who he could not protect. The man with the red eye let him live but took the bell that had her memories from all those years ago. The light sound of footsteps echoed through the empty castle and was coming where he lay. But he didn't move because he did not care what happen to him now that he has failed his master. The door swung open and he closed his eye, waiting for the stranger to speak or kill him, whichever happen first. The footsteps stopped in front of him before he heard her speak, "Get up and dance with me, you stupid bastard."
His eye snapped open and raised himself so he was on his knees and was staring into the strangely calm blue eyes of his master. Her dark hair surrounded her short frame like a dark curtain. Her face held no emotion for a second before a look of smugness crossed her pale face. She suddenly stuck out a gloved hand, startling him. "I said get up and dance with me." Hesitantly, he placed his large paw like hand into her very small and human like one and she jerked him roughly onto his feet.
She wrapped her arms around his slim waist and placed her head against his chest. He automatically wrapped one of his "hands" around her, his paw covering most of her body, while the other went to the top of her head. He spoke softly, "We don't have any music to dance to."
He could feel her smirk and hear her bark of laughter, "Yes we do." He looked down at her while she looked up at him. "The only memory I managed to keep is the memory of our song. The song only we can hear." A sharp bolt of shock rushed through his veins while a dusty pink colored his cheeks. Their bodies started to move and swirl together as one being as the unnamed song started to play. To outsiders, to people and creatures that didn't understand their bond, the two different and foolish looking people were swirling and turning, not actually officially dancing. But to them, they were dancing to their song.
The two spun around and around till the outside world became black and spots of lights dotted the sky. They twirled till the sun started to rise, bathing the land with shades of reds and oranges like it did when it went down to rest the day before. The song came to an end and the pair stopped.
The girl let go of the boy and spun on her heel towards the door and started to walk away. They did not speak a single word till the girl opened the wooden door and stopped. "Come dance with me again soon."
The boy nodded and replied, quietly, "Yes." The girl nodded. "Goodbye for now, my Cheshire." The cat boy whisper reached the girl's ears before she closed the door. "Goodbye for now, my master. Goodbye for now, my Alice."
