This poem is about Conrad and Nicolette's miscarriage. This poem is told through Nic's point of view.

Nic is a straight A student & Conrad is a troublemaker. So when the two are paired together for a biology assignment Nic assumes she'll be left to do all the work but is surprised when he agrees to work on it with her. The two get close but things threaten to tear them apart family issues, a "harmless" bet between friends & one night that is sure to change everything(crosspost AO3)

They'd been through a lot. They laughed, cried and fought together, seen each other at their best and worst but nothing prepared Jude for the state he would find Conrad in when he had to tear him away from Nic's lifeless body. Conrad wasn't the only one affected, all at Chastain felt the weight of her loss. Even Bell. Mina turns to AJ to grieve and Devon gets a reality check

Conrad Hawkins, a young resident at the peak of his early career, everything taken away after a major breakdown. Nicolette Nevin, a psych NP back to work after leaving to battle her own demons. Two beautiful minds brought together in the most unlikely of circumstances. Will they be able to pull each other from the dark or will it be too explosive for either of them to handle?

Conrad is having a not so good day. Of course he is too stubborn to ask for help. Whump ensues.

The Barnett Family is obviously close to Conrad's heart. Just how close are they and how does Nic fit into all of this?

When Conrad ends up in a terrible accident Nic feels her life is ruined. Between his serious brain injury and her unplanned pregnancy she fears that things will never be the same again...Can she rebuild their lives or will everything fall apart?
