Until Death

Sirius had always wished that things were different. The way his life turned out was never how he imagined it when he was younger. Life than had been so much simpler.

He looked at her now and he knew that it would never be the same. Sirius and Bella. They once were inseperable. Of course they were their parents worst nightmares at times, but they didnt care. They were Blacks and Blacks were a law upon their own. Each one would egg the other and get so hyped up on the thrill and adrenalin of what they would do. Their favourite game, 'until death', was played over and over again - each one too afraid to beg for mercy that they endured the suffering inflicted upon each other. It undoubtedly made them stronger and prepared them for later life. But back then it was just fun. Bella always said she could not wait for Sirius to come to Hogwarts - maybe then school would not be so boring!

But that day had changed it all. Bella sat at the Slytherin table with a face so horrorstricken that no words could describe it. Sirius himself was so shocked.

Time had passed though and Sirius and learned to deal with his fate. In fact he had taken fate into his own hands and made the best of what he could. Now he was quite happy. He had friends who could always make him laugh. But even though he appreciated all they had done for him, he could not get over the empty feeling that enclosed his heart when she walked by. His friends were brothers, but somehow they could never fill the gap that blood did.

Sirius could not help what she felt for him now. All he could do was watch as she slowly changed from who she was to what she would become.Somewhere inside he was relieved, for his fate would be different to hers. Yet there was still a feeling of regret as she followed the path of darkness and he stayed in the light. He knew they were now enemies, not family. Somewhere inside he knew this parting would haunt him. No longer fighting side by side, but as oppsoing teams. Until death.
