Rochester is a man, tortured by secrets, however, he is determined to protect the bewitching new governess.

AU. Modern. Since coming to Thorn Field Jane has slowly grown accustomed to the Fair Folk that live on the grounds, and she has learned how to guard herself against glamour and possible abduction. With her master home though, she finds that his presence tempts her to know more about these magical creatures. On a summer evening, they both feel the otherwordly pull of the fairies.

Adele Varens, the ward of Mr Rochester, is now 19 and returning back to Thornfield after finishing her education in Paris. She is anxious about the future that awaits her back in England, torn between duty and respectability and what her soul yearns for. Will she find a way to have the life she wants? Will she chose love or position?

This story takes place after the fire in Thornfield, how Mr. Rochester lived those days missing Jane, and Edward's journey to understand and accept the reasons why she left him. Completely on Edward's point of view, since this part is missing from the book and all we know is Jane's reality while this happened.
