Cadavan's POV
I woke up to the sweet smell of mushrooms coming from the kitchen. I got up, and put on my robe. I headed straight for the kitchen, nodding slightly in the direction of any one who crosses my path. I stop when I see Maerad's room. Should I invite her to eat breakfast with me, I thought. Before I could make a decision of my own, Maerad opened her door, and gave me a dazzling smile when she saw me. I picked up her hand and placed a gentle kiss on it.
"Good morning Cadavan of Lirigon," said Maerad shyly.
"And to you, Maerad of Pellinor." I replied. "I was just on my way to the kitchen to break my fast, and I was thinking if you would like to come with me."
"I would be glad to," Maerad replied bubbly. "However, don't you think you should get dressed first?" I looked down at my robe, and thought that maybe I could clean up a little.
"Aye," I said. "I will meet you in the kitchen then."
I watched Maerad as she disappeared into the hallway. Well, I better get going. I thought.
I went back to my room, and threw on a red shirt with a white jacket and white pants. This is comfortable enough. I thought.
I went back down the hallway to the kitchen where Maerad was waiting for me, most likely eating the mushrooms.
When I reached the kitchen, I saw Maerad and Silvia quietly chatting amongst themselves. Just then, Silvia looked up at me.
"Oh, hello Cadavan, I didn't see you there. Would you like some mushrooms?" Silvia hurriedly said. I looked over to Maerad and raised my eyebrows. I saw her blush and look away.
Huh, I thought, I wonder what happened here. Silvia handed me a bowl of mushrooms, and I took a seat next to Maerad. All was silent, until Malgorn stomped into the room.
"Hello; Good morning." He brutally said. I was appalled by his attitude, but said nothing.
"Malgorn, where are your manners?" Silvia said politely. Malgorn sighed, and opened his mouth to say something, but just then Hem and Irc came running into the room.
"By the light! What happened?" said Maerad. I looked over swiftly to her face, and saw up close how beautiful her face really was. Her amazingly high cheekbones, making her look fierce, strong, and delicate all at the same time, the blush on her cheeks that never leave, no matter what, her luscious lips that move gracefully whenever she talks.
Cadavan, have some self-control; I thought, by the light, she is your student! Not your wife! I smiled at that thought, but just then Hem started to speak.
"Irc said that—that there are bards, very evil bards that are coming this way," said Hem in a raspy voice.
"What that is impossible! I thought we got rid of the evil!" Maerad said frantically. I pondered about this, and realized that these bards must be under Enkir's power.
"I have and idea of whom they might be!" I murmured.
