Chapter 2
We didn't say anything for a few moments. All of a sudden the library doors burst open. "Haruhi!" Hikaru and Kaoru said in unison as they rushed over to us. "Haruhi, are you okay?" Kaoru asked when he noticed the frightened look in my eyes. "What did you do to her?" Hikaru asked Tamaki. "What? I didn't do-" "He didn't do anything; I was just scared of the thunderstorm." I said, cutting Tamaki off. "Well everything's fine now, so you can get your hands off her Tamaki." Hikaru replied kind of annoyed. There was a bit of an awkward silence, and the storm calmed down to just a light rain. "Umm..sorry we took so long, we got caught in the storm…" Kaoru said, trying to change the subject." "It's okay, but we should get out of here just in case it starts to storm again." I told him. "Yeah sounds like a good idea" Hikaru said as we left the library. "Here Haruhi, take my jacket, I don't want you catching a cold." Tamaki told me as he handed me his jacket. "But sempai, you'll get sick if you don't wear a jacket in the rain." "I don't care, as long as you're safe, I'll be fine." I took the jacket; I didn't have my sweater anyway. "Can you guys stop with the lovey-dovey stuff so we can leave? We're not going to make you walk home ya know." Hikaru said irritably. That made me giggle a little as we walked to like Hitachiin's car. The ride home was quiet. The only noise was the car engine and the rain, softly hitting the car.
~a few days later at school~ [Haruhi's birthday]
"Hey Haruhi wait up!" Hikaru & Kaoru exclaimed as they caught up to me. "What is it?" I questioned. "Happy birthday!" they both said as they handed me a small cake. It said 'Happy Birthday Haruhi' in fancy lettering. "Um thanks guys. But you really didn't have to do this for me. I'm sure it must of cost a lot of money." I said the last part quietly. They didn't seem to care because they both stood there smiling. "Haru-chan!" said Hunny coming up behind me. "I brought a present for you!" "Aw you didn't have to get me anything.." I told him. "It's the strawberry from the cake I ate earlier! I saved it just for you." "Gee thanks." "Tamaki wants the host club to come to the music room as soon as possible." Mori told all of us. "Ugh, what does he want now…" Hikaru nagged. Kaoru sighed and said, "Guess we better go find out."
When we got to the music room, Tamaki and Kyoya were waiting for us. "What took you so long?" Tamaki asked. "Um sempai, we were on the other side of the building." "Well that explains it." Kyoya butt in. "So why did you call us down here?" Hikaru asked. "Because,", Tamaki said pulling something out of his pocket, "The host club is going to a hot spring trip!" "A hot spring!" The twins said in unison. "Yes, in honor of Haruhi's birthday, we're going on a trip to a hot spring for the whole weekend!" Tamaki said with excitement. I think he's the most excited about this out of all of us. I thought to myself. "The entire weekend? But I have to take care of the house and cook the meals and-" "Don't worry about a thing Haruhi, I already made arrangements with your father." "Okay…if you say so…" "Yay! Hot spring! Hot spring! Hot spring!" Hunny exclaimed while jumping up and down. Kyoya and Mori looked like they couldn't care less about it, while on the other hand, Hikaru and Kaoru were daydreaming with a big grin on their faces. "Alright then! We'll leave tomorrow after classes are over! We'll meet in this room." Tamaki said. And we all walked out of the room; all talking with a lot of excitement in our voices.
