Please note - This is my first (ever) attempt at a sort-of deathfic. Sorry if it's sort of boring, rushed or overall not good. If anyone has any tips on making it more emotional, please PM me or leave a review discussing it.
The Last Flight
xxxxxxxxxx
The cold, crisp and freezing attributes of the morning were normal now. Five years ago, heck even a few months ago, the Berkian Vikings had grown accustomed to a not-as-cold morning, but that had changed a few months ago. When the Muddy Bewilderbeast had approached Berk, the ferocious and hypnotized look in its eyes and all. When the Chieftain (crown?) had been passed from one generation to the next.
But the morning was unnaturally cold, with the sun shining overhead, slightly tilted to east. And all of Berk was standing near the Berkian shores, crying and mourning abounding in numbers beyond the human mind's comprehension.
Two pyres, two beings, two friends lost in a freak accident. Two alphas, two people who depended on and defended each other. Two fathers, two unbreakable souls and two people who understood each other the best, and no one knew them better than... them.
But most of all. Two of two races who resided together - Viking and Dragon. Two faces - never to be seen again as the boats sailed out into the open ocean, boxes aflame as the boats crashed into each other, with a box from one boat toppling into the other.
Two boxes, aflame in the open ocean - sailing towards the edge of Midgard, all the while Berkian and Dragon alike thinking of what would happen if they hadn't passed. Two burning flames - extinguished by pure chance.
To think that a stray lightning bolt from a Skrill in midair had caused all this pain, this grief, this... mourning.
Two faces, fathers, pyres, beings, friends, unbreakable souls... two races - crushed beyond belief at the sight of their respective chieftains sailing away for Valhalla.
Hiccup and Toothless. Never to be seen again.

If no one actually noticed, I was trying to get the feeling of two people (dear Thor, I can't speak a sentence anymore without 'two' in it somewhere) and two races (there it is again) crushed, their high spirits and laughter extinguished in the blink of an eye.
Till Next Time,
