Disclaimer: I Do Not Own Naruto
A/N: Usually when I write, it's from the female's POV. This time I decided to switch it up and make it from Neji's POV. I didn't put a specific female's name into the fic, but all those who know me, know who I was thinking about.
Don't forget to review!
No, you don't belong to me
No, we don't belong together
Not the first time I saw you, not even when you entered my heart
Run away so my eyes can't find you
So my feelings don't grow
So my heart doesn't know
I can't pretend it didn't happen
The tears fall too quickly
If only I hadn't seen you, no, if only you didn't exist
I wouldn't ache so much
I hate you for showing me love
For making yourself the reason for my being
I can't control myself
This Love I Want To Kill, Lee Soo Young
Perhaps he was being foolhardy, he would think to himself when he saw her on the arm of another man. After all, she did not belong to him nor did she ever. So where did this surge of possessiveness come from? Even after the first time he laid eyes upon her did she did not belong to him, or when she first had wormed her way into his heart. They did not belong together. They were complete opposites on the circle of life. They back to back, always seeing away from each other, never toward.
The problem was, however, was that he had the byakugan and he had seen her. She wasn't making it any easier; she was friendly with everyone of course so it wasn't odd. To him though, it seemed as if she spent a little more time with him. Perhaps, though, that was wishful thinking on his part. This could be because he talked little and she liked to talk, thus she was never interrupted. Oddly enough he didn't mind, one in a while she would have something interesting to say.
In some way he hated her. He hated her because he couldn't forget her. Hated her for being around so much that he became tolerate of her. Hated her for being around so much that his feelings began to grow. There was a thin like between love and hate and he teetered on it when it came to her. He had never known love like this before she came into the picture, and wished at times she never had come into it. Then he wouldn't be standing there, digging his finger tips into the palm of his hands trying to keep a mask of indifference while watching her share HIS smile, HIS voice, and HIS touch with someone else. That was problem though, they weren't his.
Why was she slowly becoming the center of his being? Of course it didn't show, he remained the same and never gave in inkling of his feelings for her, but she was taking over and it made him angry. Why couldn't he control this? These feelings were his but he had no control over them. He had no control over anything in this situation and it ate at him.
Perhaps he was being foolhardy, he would think to himself when he saw her on the arm of another man. After all, she did not belong to him nor did she ever. So where did this surge of possessiveness come from? It was because she DID belong to him.
She just didn't know it yet.
