Plain and simply they were imprisoned. They had been captured by the race known as Glagtor's and now they were locked in the small cell temporarily, waiting for evaluation. "Well..." Rose sighed, arms crossed as she propped herself against the cold stone wall. The other was obsessively scanning the walls and cage doors with the tool he had hid so cleverly when the beings had attacked them. Besides the beginning violence, they seemed to be quiet harmless, which gave them both some relief as they waited ever so patiently. The man sat down with a huff, frustration causing his cheeks to redden in a adorable way as he stared at the ceiling. Rose knew the look when he closed his eyes, he was trying to communicate with his ship.

Suddenly, his eyes snapped open, widening as he started clicking furiously. She simply stared at the other as he seemingly ranted. "Doct-" Click. "Doctor." Another click. "Doctor!" She exclaimed, voice echoing off of the stone walls. He shut himself up just as suddenly as she had yelled, confused and slightly concerned. "I...I can't understand you." She spoke quietly and almost hesitantly. He made a confused clicking sound and tilted his head slightly.

He made a small sound of a click like he was asking a question before making a concentrated face and looking to the floor almost like he was looking for answers. The Doctor began to click away once more before going silent and looking back to Rose, whom was standing with her arms crossed in confusion. The pieces seemed to snap into place before he straightened up. "Clickclickclick!" He clicked almost like he was panicking.

Rose took his hand and looked into his almost glowing eyes. "Don't worry Doctor, we'll fix this, just try to tell me what's wrong." He nodded and took a deep breath. "Ruh...ro..." He tried to sound out her name, speaking a language he wasn't used to from his small vocabulary of English words. "Go on-that's it." She encouraged, squeezing his hand. "Ro...Rose." Her face brightened, smiling signaling to him that he had done it right.

He gave a small shake, the next word of translator seemingly unpronounceable to the frustrated alien. Rose could read the childlike frustration on his face by his reddened cheeks and kissed one. "It's alright, just try." She spoke to him like a frustrated child mother would. "T-ti..." He shook his head and clicked away, shaking his head like he was trying to get away from the word. "You can do it, almost there." "Translator!" He blurted out, looking at the girl with wide eyes that shone with hope.

She hugged the other before he picked her up and twirled her. Her laughs rang out against the walls even after he put her down. He smiled at her before pointing to the blue box in the far corner of the room. She gave a small nod and quietly tried to piece together translator, Tardis, and unknown language. He suddenly smashed the screwdriver against the stone floor, causing her to snap out of her concentration. The alien got on his knees to sort the pieces. "Doctor!" She exclaimed, crouching next to the man who was making circles with the broken pieces. The blonde began to understand it as Gallifreyean and tried her best to decipher it, but it was futile. He shook his head, now knowing that when it wasn't appearing in her language, that the translator was definitely broken. He pointed to the Tardis and clicked, letting her hear the sound quit unknown to her. "Ohhh" The small sound made him smile, glad that she was getting it.

"The translator broke?" He nodded excitedly and clicked away almost like he was shouting yes, yes, you got it! She relaxed, suddenly overcome by curiosity and the wonder of having an alien speaking a foreign language right in front of her. "So you don't actually speak English?" She was sure to only ask him yes and no questions so he could answer. The brunet nodded and guided them to the prison like bed and sat on it, not letting go of her hand. "Is it Gallifreyean?" He nodded once more, a pang of sadness washing over his face for one pure second. Rose kissed his cheek for the second time that day. It pained her that his own language caused him dismay and even more that she couldn't do anything about it.

"...does it translate me too?" He nodded and pointed to the box, then him then to the pieces of the useless machine of the floor. translator, doctor, broken, she worked out. "If you can understand me then that means that only I can't understand you." The doctor nodded before making a chopping motion and pointing to the box. "It broke...halfway?" He nodded and bobbed his head, trying to contain the ever growing excitement.

Suddenly, the alien became very quiet and looked to the ground with concentration. "R-ruh...Rose..." She tried to look into his downcast eyes, flattered that he was trying so hard to say her name. She gave a small nod and let him continue. He gulped, eyes closing as he tried to concentrate on sounding out the strange English syllables. "Love you...Rose." He said slowly and smiled shyly when she blushed.

"Doctor, we'll get out of here..." She started, taking his hand like before. He nodded. "Not say it...never..." He looked into her glazed eyes brimming with tears full of overwhelming emotion. She looked up at him, almost for permission before he nodded and let her press her soft lips to his. He tried not to click different words into the young woman, but he couldn't help small clicks saying that she was soft and the one beacon of light to him in this unbelievably dark world.

He clicked in response to her pulling away but when realizing her wide smile, he tilted his head slightly and looked into her bright eyes. "Doctor-I can understand you!" She pulled him in for a hug and he did the same. "Rose, my beautiful Rose..." He mumbled into her hair that smelled all too much like her. "But how?" The blonde asked, pulling away once more. "Must've repaired itself." He shrugged and hoped deeply that she hadn't heard him earlier.

Rose pulled him in once more, taking s moment to nuzzle into his shoulder. "Love you too, Doctor." She practically purred.
