Simon felt his insides collapse and churn like a train moving round and round in circles. Echoes of high heeled boots that were worn by Isabelle Lightwood filled the air. Simon's gaze fell on Isabelle and only her and for a moment he felt like he was watching a movie, re-running the walk of Izzy in his head. Izzy stopped a couple of feet away from Simon. Silence filled the air.

"You said you wanted to talk," Simon prompted, trying to ease the awkwardness.

Isabelle crossed her arms and spoke, "Yeah, I wanted to know if- you know what? Never mind, I'm hungry. Let's go inside."

Simon followed Isabelle into Taki's. He felt nervous, his palms sweaty. The last time he had tried to converse with her, she had blown him off. He wasn't sure what to make of her sudden interest in talking to him. After all, no one other than Clary was actually interested in befriending him after he became a mundane and apparently lost all his memories of the world of the shadow- hunters.

"So Simon, you know that new star wars movie that was released a couple of days ago?" Isabelle said.

"Yes."

"I watched it." Isabelle stated.

"Um, ok." Simon replied, clenching and unclenching his fingers.

"I-" Isabelle was interrupted by the waitress taking their order. Simon ordered lamb blood and Isabelle ordered a hamburger.

"I didn't understand the movie at all. Explain it to me." She said.

Simon was astonished. "You called me to ask me to explain star wars to you?"

"Practically, yes. But, we could do something else later." She said, her tone growing more husky and seductive at the end.

Simon felt blood rush to his cheeks and ears. Isabelle chuckled, "Just kidding." Or maybe not, she thought.

The waitress arrived with the food and the duo sat in perfect silence.

"Now, that's what I call a sexy ham." Simon mumbled, hoping Isabelle didn't catch his words, but she did and a second later she burst out laughing. Simon smiled as he saw the edges of her mouth widen and form creases at her cheeks.

"Hey, Simon, right?" Said a voice.

"Kaaty?" He guessed.

"The one and only, kaatrella at your service your highness." She said, giggling.

"And I thought the incident was burnt and buried." Simon replied. Simon locked eyes with Isabelle as she cleared her throat, all humor gone from her eyes.

"Aren't you going to introduce us, Simon." Kaaty said.

"Kaaty, this is Isabelle and Isabelle, Kaaty." Simon said, feeling a brick of pressure fall upon him. Both the girls were eyeing each other up, one judging the other.

"Simon, let's get moving. We don't want unwanted people spoiling our date, right?" Isabelle said, looking at Simon expectantly. But, Simon just stared at her clearly confused the way the situation was playing out. Isabelle slammed a couple of dollars on the table and stormed out.

"Attitude. I hate it." Kaaty said.

"Whatever," Simon replied. He felt like someone had squeezed the life out of his heart and drained the blood. Putting his head in his hands, he groaned. Why do I always make Isabelle angry, he thought. She had given him a chance and he had ruined it, completely.

I guess the one girl who actually liked me doesn't like me anymore, he thought, I bet I'll die all alone as a virgin prude.

Dear Simon,

I'm so sorry, Simon. This is not how I wanted this to play out. But, curse me and my useless brain. I promise you that you won't die a virgin and that you will be forever and happily married to Isabelle Lightwood for the rest of your life and that you would spend most of your time killing demons together and almost dying together. I'm not sure about the kids though, how many do you want, Simon?

Love,
