The Prolog

Many centuries ago there lived a miko with incredible powers. Her name was Midoriko. Her all powerful soul was sealed away during a great battle. The soul formed the Shikon Jewel. However, three fragments of her mighty soul escaped their eternal prison in a desperate attempt to be reincarnated. The Fates call these fragments Do, Ri, and Ko. The three were powerless on their own but they didn't care they merely wanted to live on. They were eventually born into a family. Since the fragments were not strong enough to have their own bodies they merged with the newly created souls of the family.
Ko was the first to be reborn. She grew older then got married and had two children, a son and a daughter. The son was Do. The daughter was Ri. But the fates were cruel to the fragments. The village they lived in was attacked. Ko and Do's bodies were killed leaving only Ri. The girl was taken in by the villagers, but they were cruel to her. Then one day when the girl was about eight she met someone who would change her life. Though, her soul's name was Ri, Her body's name was Rin.
Rin fell in love with a demon named Sesshomaru(the someone that changed her life). He, in turn, fell in love with her too. But alas, humans are frail creatures and Rin died of old age. Sesshomaru(along with their daughter) had to live on without her.
Do, Ri, and Ko were once again reincarnated. This time it was into three girls of different families. The girls met and became best friends. They were practically inseparable.
When Inuyasha and Kagome made the wish for the happiness of their friends(and to make it so Inuyasha wouldn't have to out live Kagome) with the Shikon Jewel, Mi(the rest of the soul containing the power) was released and it was divided among the girls. Do gained defensive powers. Ri gained offensive powers. And Ko gained purification abilities. The girls have yet to discover these hidden talents.
