Hi I'm Cyvash, this is a long overdue rewrite, this was a something pitched out by Madork Gunna, unless you saved the original text or it's booked-marked in a archive I've changed up a few things as stated by chapter four if it's still up when the revised chapters go live. There wasn't much changed here, just included the grey knights will be joining in on the adventure, so many characters to keep track of, there's reason for it. Can't leave the Salamanders without some form of psychic defense for the first climactic battle that we will be gearing towards. Still probably trying to format the pages properly.

Disclaimer I don't own anything everything belong to their respective owners and such hope people enjoy it and review.

The Cyrix system, there wasn't much too it, only a couple habitual planets orbiting a dwarf star. It wasn't on any pilgrimage routes no holy sites that could be spoke of. One of the planets boasted a generous population putting out a few mechanized guard regiments every few decades. It was a prime target for the forces of chaos to take, for as large as the Imperium was no-one would miss a single system.

The forces of the Death Guard Legion came to the system in mass driven on by apostles from the Word Bearers, there were plans for this little backwater system that if successful would be able to bring cripple the Imperium on multiple fronts. They swept across the system after almost of year of one-sided fighting they almost had victory in their hands until the relief fleet arrived.

After hearing that the forces of two traitor legions despoiling the once prosperous hive system in the astropathic messages that were sent abroad calling for aid. A great fleet had assembled the Salamanders third company were one of many chapters that answered the call, there were the Doom Warriors fifth company, a host of Grey knights, the Death Specters first company and chapter master, the Red Talons second to seventh companies, along with numerous guard regiments of Vostroyan First-born, Athonian Tunnel Rats, and Kaledon Hunters.

The war for the Cyrix system had now reached it's climax with the arrival of so many chapters and guard regiments to fight back the forces of rot, none were aware of the Arch Enemy's intentions for the system and the repercussions the would be felt all the way to the Cadian Gate.

Right now Brother-Captain Agatone stood waiting on the bridge of the space marine strike cruiser The Torch of Vulcan for tactical squad delta under command of the newly promoted sergeant Tsan `Shal to report in. They were being deployed to Cyrix III, with Ignasius a veteran of the chapter that had been house in a Contemptor chassis, awoken a year ago to retake the the Temple of The Emperor's Ascent from a group of Word Bearers attempting to bring in more daemonic reinforcements. Along with them Chief Techmarine of the third company Cullus, they were sent down to recon a manufactorum, a force from the supporting Mechanicus warhost had went missing when they went to investigate. They were also to receive support from a Interceptor squad in case of daemonic taint.

A thunderhawk came barreling down from the skies on wings of fire, it circled the manufactorum raking garrisoned traitor guardsmen who were positioned around the factory with bolter fire from the gun mountings under the wings and sides of the craft. It landed in a courtyard in front the factory. The front ramp dropped with a thud and eight marines in green power armor disembarked from the assault craft taking up positions in a rough semi circle in front of the thunderhawk. Two marines walked out of the craft, one in MK V "heresy" armor bearing the sigil of the Apothercarion across the right shoulder pad and the company markings on the left, his name Sho `Gal. Another with his Mk VI corvus helmet attached on his belt, leaving a his battle scarred onyx face for all to see, his name Tsan`Shal acting commander of this recon mission. Reaching the end of the ramp one of his brothers approached, it was his seconded in command Xander who carried a heavy flamer.

"Brother Sergeant the area is secure," Xander stated, "Ready for phase two."

"Good" Tsan `Shal replied turning back to the thunderhawk seeing the Chief Techmarine standing to the entrance of the craft, "Radio The Torch of Vulcan the area is secured for Ignasius." The techmarine nodded and returned back into the gloomy interior of the aircraft.

Not even an hour later a teardrop shaped fire ball descended from the upon high, landing in the courtyard with an earth shattering smash. It was a Salamander drop pod, heralding the bane of all who have who have all turned from the Emperor's light. The sides of the pod dropped and Ignasius walked out in front of delta squad and the techmarine who had assembled in front of the gunship. The fourteen ton Contemptor dreadnought armed with a twin-linked lascannon and an ornate power fist with a melt gun attached to it.

He spoke with a booming voice "I HAVE COME TO DESTROY ALL THOSE WHO HAVE TURNED FROM THE EMPEROR,"

Brother Sergeant Tsan 'Shal stepped forward, "Your job is simple brother Ignasius, you are to patrol the outside of the manufactorum while delta squad purges all traitors within the confines of the complex, while Cullus waits in the thunderhawk prepping his servitors. Our cousins from the Inquisition will be here in due time,"

"ACKNOWLEDGED," Ignasius responded "INTO THE FIRES OF BATTLE!"

"Unto the anvil of war!" the assembled marines said in unison, while being watched from a window from the factory.

"Be ready," the figure said into his helmet's communication device, "The sons of Vulcan approach."
