Chapter 1

I watch as Kasey and Alexis exchange kind whispers, and I roll my eyes humming some of my favorite music. Carter steps into the car, and of course doesn't notice me. Carter flips down the mirror and begins to inspect his teeth, growling like a wolf.

"Idiot," I scoff, picking at my cuticles, my months old nail polish not chipping. I guess thats a benefit of being dead: no chip polish. Great.

"Sorry babe," Alexis saying, sliding into shotgun gently patting Carter's arm. Her eyes dart to my in the backseat, as she slams the door. I give her a wicked smirk, and a angry fog clouds her face.

"No problem," Carter says gingerly, leaning over and placing a soft kiss on her forehead. She giggles like a schoolgirl, and I pretend to gag myself. He leans back into his seat and the car begins to purr to life. "How was Kase?" He asks, turning back and looking straight through me, as he pulls out of the driveway.

"You know, normal," She says ducking her head, her dull turquoise hair falling into her face. This color is clearly not Carter's favorite, I can tell by his slight fall of his face.

"What did you do Alexis?" He asks, as we begin to drive out the Alexis's crappy little suburban town.

"I may have told her she could sleep over every weekend," Alexis mumbles almost inaudible. There is a breif period of silence, in the car which I break by groaning loudly. Alexis balls her fists angrily, and I roll my eyes. Then Carter's hearty laugh fills the car. His eyes scrunch up, and a look of pure joy crosses his face.

"You're really dumb Lexi," He giggles, putting his hand on her knee. She looks up at him, utterly confused. "Kasey is always welcomed, what the hell did you think I was going to say?" He says, as we turn off towards the couples new house.
