The Butterfly's Reject
Yae? Why did you leave me behind? I kept waiting and waiting…and waiting. I believed you would come back to me, so we could be together…Forever.
Sae walked down the damp road. It was dark with dirt. The walls would drop rocks and the huge cave would echo horrible sounds. Sae looked at her feet as she walked.
Left…right…left…right…
Sae followed her footsteps, trying to forget about her horrible fate. She tried to forget how her sister left her, and how Itsuki… Sae felt a tear slide down her cheek as she thought about Itsuki. If her and Yae had just done the ritual, Itsuki would still be here. Sae unnoticeably walked down the hard and cold stairs. She suddenly snapped from her thoughts as she felt the icy ground through her shoes. Sae looked up from her feet and frowned. Well, this was it.
Yae, where are you? Don't you even care?
Sae froze at the bottom of the stairs as she saw a mourner hand a long, bloody rope to a priest. A priest behind her brutally grabbed Sae's arm and literally dragged her to an altar. Sae stared at the altar with a grimace expression and then looked at the priest. He nodded, and motioned for the other priest to surround the altar. Sae knew they did this to make sure she doesn't try to escape. I don't want to run. I want to save the village. Sae signed loudly as she walked up the stairs of the altar. Hands tied. Eyes red and watery. She stood on the wooden part of the altar and waited as the priest tied the rope around her neck.
Yae, I know you will come back for me…
The priest bowed slightly then stepped down from the altar.
Bang…bang…bang…
The priest began to bang their staffs over and over, banging perfectly at the same time.
Sae watched through teary eyes as a priest stepped out of line and put his hands together. He was praying. Sae wished she could pray right know. All she wanted was her sister back. Right here. With her…
Sae felt the wooden floor open as she fell through. She felt her neck crack viciously and blood splattered from her mouth. She didn't have time to scream out in pain. She died silently and quickly.
Yae, you will come back for me…If it takes an eternity…I'll wait…then we can be together…forever…
When the priest, finally thought she was dead, the mourners took Sae down and threw her pale, cold body into the Hellish Abyss. The priests all began to pray, hoping for the best. When they didn't see a crimson butterfly, and the earth began to rumble, they knew that the Hellish Abyss had rejected this sacrificed.
Yae? Come back please…
Sae appeared over the Hellish Abyss. And started to randomly attacked, left and right. Blood splattered on her pure white kimono, and all over the walls.
A darkness suddenly covered All God's Village.
"Sae! Where are you!"
Yae stumbled though the forest. She had left Sae so they wouldn't have to do the ritual. She might have gone back to the village though.
Yae ran as fast as she could toward a red light.
She stopped as she saw that darkness had covered her whole village.
"Oh, no!"
Yae covered her mouth as she gasped silently.
"Sae…"
