Sain wasn't a complete moron. He knew that using his current tricks and lines would not find him true love. He wasn't really looking for it yet, nor did he think he was ready. Girls were beautiful and they all deserved to know, but he wasn't going to steal their hearts away, not yet. Kent on the other hand, was the ideal husband. He was strong, smart, dutiful, sensible and had a very kind and tender side under that cool exterior. Sain swore to Kent that some day he'd have him spouting lines to girls and they'd all line up for days just to hear a flowery word or two.
"That is complete lunacy, Sain," Kent said. "I'd never stoop so low so as to use your two bit lines in a vain attempt at finding love."
Sain was almost certain Kent's shell would never crack. That all changed when they met Lyn. Sain had tried almost everything to get her attention, and Kent had almost succeeded in shooing him away, when he turned to her uttered what Sain would have termed as the worst pick up line in history: "Haven't we met before?"
Sain could not quite describe what he felt; it was somewhere between smug and triumph. He had gotten Kent to open up just a little bit.
Now we all know what Kent really meant and what happened after. But come on, it was too good not to pass up.
