MOTHER
You said you loved me
But if it was true
Why? Why did you cage me?
Everyday you made sure
That I wore it
The chain
The chain that kept my true self hidden
You only pretended
Pretended to love me
You always said it
But you never meant it
You never understood
What the word love meant
You spelled it out
Thinking in you mind
That what you did was right
But in your heart
You knew it was wrong
Don't you see?
Don't you understand?
THEY LOVE ME
They truly love me
For whom I am
Not for what I am
Not because I was born in their family
They know its meaning
Don't you understand?
You can never give that to me
Ever
That's why I can never call you
By what you should be
You were always afraid
You pushed me away
