Albus burst into Minerva's class, shouting at the top of his lungs, "SNIPES! I NEED A SNIPE!" When he realized that the entire class along with Minerva, Ron, Hermione, and Harry were staring at him, ran up to Minerva and grabbed her hand, trying to drag her out of the classroom while telling her,

"Come on, Minerva! You must assist me on my noble quest as I search for the rare and elusive snipe!" Minerva wrenched her hand out of his grip and asked him in her most polite and patient tone,

"Albus Perciv—Professor Dumbledore, what on God's green earth are you shouting about?" Albus took a deep breath and calmed down long enough to explain to Minerva,

"One of the students has promised me that if I bring him a snipe, he will give me anything I want! I must get that supply of lemon drops! Come on, you have to help me!" He grabbed her wrist again and tried to drag her out the door on his noble quest for a snipe. Ron was in his desk shaking with laughter. Hermione, knowing exactly what a snipe was, smacked Ron on the shoulder, which both of the teachers was too busy to notice. Harry just looked on with amusement, shaking his head with a smile.

Minerva looked at Albus, thinking about how childish he was, needing help to hunt a snipe, how stupid they must look to the class, and how absolutely enthralling his eyes were. Minerva turned to her class, waved her wand at the chalkboard, and stated,

"You are to read the chapter indicated on the board. Practice the spell with a partner. Anyone not following the instructions will face severe punishment." She walked out with Albus. Once out in the hallway, Minerva helped Albus search the entire castle for the rest of the class period, until they came to the remarkable conclusion that there are no such things as snipes.

While they came to this remarkable conclusion, Hermione held a "civilized conversation" with Ron,

"Ronald, why on earth did you make this pathetic and childish bet with Professor Dumbledore?" Ronald couldn't stop himself; he started snickering, and Harry quickly joined him. Hermione smacked them both on the arm,

"You too! Honestly, I don't know why I even bother with you two." They started reading the chapter. Or rather, Hermione started reading the chapter while Harry and Ron joined the rest of the class in talking and fooling around. Just as the bell was about to ring, Minerva and Albus thundered into the room. Minerva roared at Harry and Ron,

"Potter. Weasley. Detention tonight at 7. Meet here." Albus was doing his own sort of roaring; roaring with laughter that is. He had collapsed on the floor, crying with laughter. The rest of the muggle-borns in class were laughing as well. The rest of the wizards and witches from wizarding families merely looked on, thoroughly confused. Minerva had just opened her mouth to continue when the bell rang, and all of the students ran out. Albus sat at her desk. Minerva shook her head and said,

"And you, oh wise and great pain-in-the-arse, better get your arse up to your office before I put a big pain in it." Albus wiggled his eyebrows suggestively and said,
"Not that you'd mind, of course." He ran out just as Minerva drew her wand. Minerva muttered,

"Stupid headmaster." She then started preparing for her next class.
