All Evil was Once Good
He was not always as he was now
For all things have a beginning
For all evil
Was once good
There was not always the worm
The prowler
The shadow
There was not always the cunning
The smooth speech
The secrets
There was once
A boy
A shy, awkward boy
With eyes like winter ice
And a dark head
Of raven hair
He was strange
To his countrymen
Not like them
Different
An outsider
Rebuked
Ridiculed
But he went on
To be a man
But a man
Who was deceived
By evil
By greed
By lust
And the good
Was poisoned
Into evil
