Chapter 1
3rd person POV
The couple fought, Percy whirling around cutting through monsters as if they were butter and Annabeth slashing, weaving and stabbing through any monsters that dared challenge her. The mist dissipated and great sturdy doors loomed over the monsters and as the couple fought, 20% of the monsters dashed towards the Doors of Death. The door opened, and the monsters dashed towards the mortal world. Percy noticed this and called out,
"Wise Girl, the doors are open. We have to leave NOW!"
"We have to close it as well Seaweed Brain."
The two ran towards the doors, where piles of golden dust lay scattered just on the border of the mortal world. Arrows pierced through many monsters, as Nico lay waste to the monsters that managed to dodge the arrows. His Stygian Iron sword sucked in the essence of the monsters, as grapes burst forward, distracting the many monsters. A golden sword glinted and gleamed in the darkness as a blur raced through the monsters, cutting and slashing through the monsters. Giant flaming hammers smashed down on monsters head, illuminating the cavern, showing a giant spurting out golden ichor. A hydra appeared, and as the golden sword slashed the head, a ball of fire cauterized it. The blur travelled through the cavern, a spear stabbing the heads, before bolts of fire closed the wound. The fire user threw one last bolt of fire, narrowly missing Percy.
"Percy!" gasped Nico.
He quickly summoned skeletons and sparti to fight of the monsters as he rushed towards the couple. Percy ran towards the one he considered a brother and crossed the border. He stopped in his treks, to face the one he loved crying silently.
"Wise Girl, come on! The monsters are closing in on you!" Percy shouts.
Tears streaked down her face as she whispered, "The doors need to be closed from the inside as well. I understand the prophecy Percy. I promised your mum that I would protect you at all costs and if need be, with my life. Our parents are enemies. Rivals. Do you not understand Seaweed Brain, or must I spell it out for you," she smiled sadly at him, shaking her head as he wailed as he rushed towards the entrance of Tartarus.
She nodded towards Hazel, the blur. A wall appeared before Percy. Percy crashed into it and pounded on the door. He pleaded with Hazel to vanish the wall, Leo to destroy it and Jason to blast it to rubble to no avail.
"Annabeth, please don't. I love you. Nico, please replace her with me. I can close it!" he chocked out as tears streaked down the son of Poseidon's cheeks, his sea green eyes brimming of tears.
"I'm sorry Percy, but one must close it from the inside. Also, Tartarus is too evil for me to shadow into," Nico lied, gritting his teeth as he did so.
