Jean punched him.

It wasn't really a thinking matter when Jean had raised his voice distinctively over Eren's, but it was when he saw the tears clinging to his dark lashes and heard the strain of his voice as he tried to utter his next choice of words. He raised his hands defensively, looking away just as Eren had let out an enraged shout. As soon as he turned his head, a fist collided into his cheek and the seconds seemed to tick by in hours. The pain was excutiating, reverbrating through his bones in a firey uproar that made him stumble a few steps back and hit the wall behind him.

"What the fuck?" The words were barely able to leave his lips before the same fist was launched into his gut and caused him to double over. His lungs expanded too quickly- too hard to breathe- too slow- Eren brought his elbow down on the back of Jean's head. He responded accordingly, knees buckling the moment he felt it hit his head and face skidding across the ground. He groaned, bones aching as he pressed his palms down and attempted to lift his head.

Instead he got a heel, specifically Eren's, digging into his spine with enough force for his thoughts to stagger and his head to fall down again. Jean let out a choked gasp, entirely caught off guard when Eren yanked him up by his hair and slammed him into the nearest wall. The movement was dizzying and for a moment Jean thought he was going to vomit until he felt a fist grabbing harshly at the front of his shirt.

He was lifted roughly 4 inches of the ground and the only thought that Jean could coherently process was 'impressive'. His head hit the wall, again and again and Eren jerked him around effortlessly with a horrifying fire in his eyes. When he let go, Jean practically crumbled. His limbs felt numb, head throbbing even as Eren placed his hand- I dare say- Gently, on the top of his head.

"Don't you ever fucking touch me again," The words were spit like acid and Jean could only vaguely make out his infuriated expression before he left. The last thing Jean thought before he blacked out was, 'Jaeger can really throw a punch.'
