Summary: He didn't even know that there had been another archer in their little 'Arrow Team' - Arrowfam aftermath of 'Depths'
He's not sure what exactly has happened, but he knows when it does. He can sense the emotional outburst that has just occurred outside his hospital room. Ollie and…the other guy - his clone - both go through a drastic change in body language, their shoulders becoming rigid, their limbs moving in short, jerky gestures. It's like they're trying to make themselves believe something that seems so unbelieveable; they don't understand how this something - whatever it is - could have happened.
He can only catch snatches of conversation through the closed door, but he still closes his eyes and listens as hard as he can. There's snippets of "…..not even in the job anymore!", "…never though he would…", "…..jesus, what am I going to tell Jade?", and of course, the repetition of "How? How did this happen? How could this happen? What happened?"
This process goes on a while before Ollie walks out of sight, and the…other him (he still isn't sure what he's supposed to call him - or how he's supposed to act around him) walks through the door into his room. "Ollie just had to go do some…League…stuff - for a little while," the other him states (maybe he should just call him Red Arrow), looking down at his feet. "Just uh…thought you should know." He turns back around and moves to leave the room.
"What's going on?" He bursts out suddenly, surprising them both. Up until now, he hasn't said anything directly to Red Arrow; up until now, it's been too…weird.
Red Arrow frowns. "Uhm…Artemis…" his eyebrows are drawn low and he's staring at a spot on the ground, shaking his head ever so slighty. "…Artemis died."
"Who's Artemis?"
His older version brings his head up to look at him, his expression being one of that who only just remembered how much his counterpart has missed. "She was Ollie's…protege after I went solo a few years back."
Roy knew he was out of the loop of some things, but he had no idea that there had been another protege of Ollie's during the years he had been on ice. With piqued curiosity on this extra member of their little 'Team', and the years his cloned counterpart got with her - and with so many other people - he tilts his head to the side and asks; "Were you two close?"
"Not at first," Red Arrow gives a grim smile. "Ollie reckons that's because the two of us are…were…so alike. But eventually, yeah - she was kinda like a…an annoying little sister, that would kick me if she thought I was being stupid."
He shakes his head, once again frowning at the ground. "She was an idiot for going back," he whispers to the ground, before he glances back up at Roy. He twitches his mouth up ever so slightly in a sad smile, turning towards the door. He moves to walk out, pausing only for a second at the door, turning his head slightly back towards Roy and saying: "You would've liked her."
