A/N: In my story "College is no Sherwood" I mentioned Marian writing a poem. Here it is. Nothing special. It came out of a brainstorm for a poetry assignment I had to do, but of course no one but a true Robin Hood fan would get it.
An alternate title would be: Thanks a lot, BBC.
The Fiction of Lady Marian's Happy Ending
A captive
in the long-running game of lesser men,
she's waiting
for freedom—
the reckless release
of her tower-trapped maiden-self
down a sheet-knotted rope
or an ivy trellis
into the arms of an outlaw- archer
in the dreamy, forever kind of way
but someone said
it couldn't happen.
So,
it doesn't happen.
