AN: This, my readers, is a historic day. For the first time in my life, I have written a pairing which has not been a challenge, nor was it a dream. I just decided to get write a Cedric/Cho, regardless of the fact that I am not a romance person. I hoped that I was able to incluse one without death, but that was one thing which I did not manage. But, you can't get everything I guess. Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter or the universe. In that case, I would be filthy rich.
Cho Chang was waiting, clutching the butterfly necklace she was wearing. It was a gift from her boyfriend, Cedric Diggory.
She had done it ever since she had wished him good luck on the next trial.
And right in front of hers, Hogwarts, Beaxbatons, and Dumstrang, and The press's eyes Cedric and Harry Potter had vanished.
She could hear people scream in outrage, others were crying out in fear. She was silent, petrified, holding the necklace like her life depended on it. As long as it stayed a butterfly necklace. It was her hope. If it transformed to what it once was, a knife...
"Cho...?" Marietta Edgecomb was looking at her. "What did you say?"
The jet haired teenage girl opened her mouth to tell her best friend that she had just been thinking outloud, when she felt sharp pain in her hand.
She let go, and stared at her hands. She had cut them.
She knew what had happened. Instantly. Ignoring the blood, she put her hands on her trousers. Her eyes shut tightly , hoping to wake up from this. She could barely hear Marietta calling her name, nor did she notice that she rose from her seat, calling out "He's dead!"
The rest of the evening had been a blur. Marietta had tried to calm her down, trying to come up with excuses. She too knew the story about her necklace, a small knife Cedric had been given, and transfigured it to the shape of a blue butterfly.
Then, Harry Potter had come back with the body, eliminating the fragile doubt and hope Marietta had managed to create.
And finally, Cho's tears fell.
