It has been years that his dreams were only nightmares. Nightmares that seemed so real that make you want to scream, but only no sound came. The light of daybreak was your biggest hero that faded the nightmare way but yet, leaves you aware and grateful.

Arthur knew that his nightmares would come true, he had them so many times, and he knew that his Knights won't be with him forever.

"Arthur, you are needed at the wall." Jols announced.

Arthur made his way to the great wall, his face grew white as he looked what all his knights were staring at. It had begun; his first nightmare has come to pass. The Saxons have made their way here and would expect nothing less than war.

He looked at his knights with sadness, he won't make them part of this nightmare of his, and to do that he must face yet another.

"Knights, my journey with you must end here." Arthur said sadly, he knew this day would come when they would leave, and he would lose a great part of him. That was his other nightmare, the day he must let his Knights go. But somehow this nightmare would have a happy ending; they would finally have their freedom that has been denied for so long. He was happy with his decision.

The next morning, Arthur was on Badon Hill looking down at the road, watching a great part of his life leaving. He would miss them, for fifteen years they had been here at Hadrian's Wall with him fighting for a cause none of their own. They are his Knights; brothers in arms. At least this way he won't have to bury more of his brothers, no more fallen Knights.

Arthur turned around, he could not watch anymore, it pulls at his heart and makes this nightmare worse. He starred at the Saxon army that was just outside the Wall. This nightmare won't end like in his dreams, like destiny, he chose to make it so.

Arthur was looking at the enemy when he was joined by Lancelot. He looked at his Knight, best friend, brother, no words were needed. He was happy that Lancelot decided to stay and fight by his side like he did for fifteen years. So many times in battle we snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. Outnumbered, outflanked, but still we triumph. With him at my side, we can do so again. Then the rest of his knights joined them. Arthur was not sure if he should be happy or fear this decision of theirs.

"Knights. The gift of freedom is yours by right. But the home we seek resides not in some distant land. It's in us! And in our actions on this day! If this be our destiny, then so be it. But let history remember that as free men, we chose to make it so."

They all rode down the hill the join the approaching Saxons in battle.

The battle was hard, they were outnumbered by hundreds. Arthur was fighting a few Woads, when he saw his Knight Tristan fighting with Cerdic, he was losing. "No more fallen knights" Arthur whispered as he tried to make his way through the Saxons to get to him. But there were too many, Arthur watched helplessly as Cerdic blew life into another nightmare as he cut down his Knight. Arthur finally made his way to Cerdic and he would revenge his scout even if it takes his own life. The fight and the battle with the Saxons were won.

But victory was bitter as Arthur looked down at the body of yet another fallen knight, his scout Tristan. The cruel fate of his nightmares were like daggers in his back.

He looked around the lifeless bodies on the ground when he stopped dead in his tracks.

"No!" He said running towards a body his eyes fallen upon. It was Lancelot, his best friend. How would a lifetime of nightmares all came alive in only two days? It was all just the cruel fate called destiny.
