One cold frosty morning I looked out the window in wonder. Outside there was a small Yelping sound that woke me. I turned to look at my clock, "3:00 am!" I turned to look back out the window I blew on it to try and get some frost off. Dad still hasn't fixed the like ouutside.I slowly go up and walked to the door. My boot's felt warm by the fire as I slipped them on, I slipped my jacket on. I wanted to just tiptoe down the stairs, but I knew I couldn't. My parents bedroom was just next door and the stairs alway's creek. I decided to climb onto the roof of the porch and down the poll.

First, I would have to make sure the roof wasn't wet. I slowly opened the window and felt the roof, thank goodness it was dry! I climbed out. The Yelping got louder as I jumped down. When I got to the ground, I looked up. Through the woods I see a red flicker. What was that? I walked closer and I did the Yelping got louder. Whatever it was it was in pain. I creeped through the dark, cold, scary forest and into the night. With each step a new worry came to me. All of a sudden th Yelping stopped, a twig snapped and something was gone. I walked around the bush, and straight into a fox, A baby fox. He was on the ground, bloody, and beat up. I took my jacket off, knelt to the ground and wrapped it around him. "Something must have attacked you, you poor thing." I said with tears in my eyes. "I'll take you home and take care of you." When I opened the door to the house a warm rush of air hit me. The baby fox gave a sign of relief to be out of his mess.

I snuck up to my room, this time there was no way around it, I had to go up the stairs. I reached my room a I opened the door and there was a chill. Uhg, I left the window opened! The baby shivered. I set him on my bed and ran to close the window. I swiftly ran back to my bed to cradle the fox. "I think I'll call you...Lucky." I said "Because you are very lucky I found you in time." I cleaned lucky up, made him a bed on the floor and fell asleep. When I woke up Lucky was right in my face! "Lucky, you know you can't stay much longer." I said. "My parents won't allow it." So we said our good bye's and I let him go, but he didn't want to. We walked through the woods and I brought the blanket that i brought him home in, and set up a bed for him in a clearing. "I'll visit you everyday." I said. And so i did, everyday for a very long time and we became the best of friends.
