Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto.

Thank you to GoldenDropOfSunshine for inspiring me to make this. I hope it's not bad, now that I've dedicated this to someone! I don't know if this'll be a one-shot or not. I'll take popular demand. Of which I count as half. (.),(-) (that's supposed to be a wink)

Summary:

Fic Type: Drabble

Fic Title: Fearful, Fearless, and Somewhere In Between

Chapter Title: HinaNaru

(Note: Pairings will always be one-sided, if I decide to add chapters, according to the name that comes first: i.e. this will be a Hinata crushing on Naruto while he shows nothing to her)

Some people were born fearless. Naruto, jinchuriki of the Kyuubi, was definitely born fearless and strong. Some people were born fearful. Hinata, failure heiress to the Hyuuga clan, was born fearful and frail.

A perfect match, Hinata had thought.

For years she admired him from a distance. As she went on admiring him, she noticed something they had in common. Not only did they have attracting opposites, But they had common grounds, too!

Some were simply born lucky. Some were simply lucky to be born. Hinata realized that Naruto was one of the ones who were lucky to be born. Everything bad happened to him. It seemed as though he carried the village's pain, because everyone blamed him for it. Hinata carried her clan's pain.

A perfect match, Hinata had thought.

Some people had a will of iron. Some people… didn't. Naruto's will was that of iron. People tried to cut him down with all of their sharp tongues and cutting insults, but nothing could break him. Hinata was completely different. People threw their sharp tongues at her and their cutting insults at her and she went down, cutting through her as easily as butter. She needed him.

A perfect match, Hinata had thought.

Hinata walked up to Naruto one raining night, and she told him all these things.

He was confused.

Hinata said that they were a perfect match.

He was coy.

Hinata asked him what he thought of them together.

He was oblivious and said that she was a good friend.

Hinata tried to get him to see things her way.

He ran after Sakura before she could explain.

Hinata thanked God it was raining so that her tears were camouflaged and her sobs were muffled.

Someone pulled her aside under a balcony of an apartment and took out an umbrella. Kiba guided her under the umbrella.

Kiba listened to the distraught girl as she told him how her fantasy came crashing to the ground.

Kiba saw her to her door and sauntered hatefully to his house.

Kiba lay awake in bed, hating every inch of Naruto.

First fic, flames are accepted, but I have an excuse if it sucks. Please review, even if you have a flame!!!
