I am neither god nor mortal
Though some would call me both
I am neither male nor female
Such things are beyond my understanding
I cannot see past or future
Though the present can find some of both
I am the Grey
Not good, not evil. Not here, not there
I fill the space between heaven and earth
And every place not one thing or the other
A six walled box holds me but I need not stay
There it is Grey, not light or dark
Fear is my charge, not bravery, not cowardice
Mortals use me to punish both
Those who pass my tests may not harm my people
Those neither honored nor scorned
They are the people who are defenseless and strong
Those who stand before some and fall before others
Give me a name that cannot be mine
A name is absolute, but is it not also abstract?
