John Sheppard shook his head for what seemed like the tenth time in a minute.

He just couldn't wrap his brain around this one, Mensa or no.

He turned to Rodney yet again.

"Seriously?" he asked. "We really don't have one?"

Rodney shrugged. "Apparently not."

"And you can't, I don't know, build one?"

"I'm an astrophysicist, not a carpenter," said Rodney, causing John to roll his eyes at the Star Trek reference.

"Well, only one thing to do, then" said John, walking away.

Rodney called after him. "Hey! Where are you going? Elizabeth really had her heart set on this."

John didn't bother to turn around. "I'm going to the cargo bay to see if I can build one."

Rodney's eyes brightened. "Good idea! I'll just head to the mess, then. See if they need any help with… anything."

"Whatever," John mumbled, dismissing Rodney with a wave of one hand.

Rodney hurried off and John shook his head once again, marveling at Rodney's insatiable appetite, as he headed to the cargo bay.

Three hours later, he and some enlisted men has assembled something that would do the job, and an hour after that, they hung Elizabeth's star right where she wanted it.

Sure, Carson treated a broken finger and a sprained ankle from their little project, but in the end, it was worth it.

They'd worked around the problem.

And they'd learned something, too.

The next time any of them went to Earth, they were totally bringing back a ladder.
