The first thing I became aware of was an overwhelming sense of happiness. Every definition of the word flowed into my newly formed mind, and every meaning applied to me. Joy, giddiness, contentment, glee, bliss, mirth, delight, elation… I felt a warmth spread through my undefined form, giving it a meaning, a shape. I had been nothing, nonexistent, not even an atom in the universe, until this emotion converged to a single point, giving me life. It molded me, giving me a form resembling that of a human.
During this process, thoughts that were not my own drifted through my consciousness. Random sentences and images sporadically appeared, having to do with everything from wanting to order from Pizza Hut to worrying over an overdue homework assignment to gushing over a crush. But across all these different thoughts, a word stood out, repeating over and over again till it seemed imprinted into my mind: Cry.
