Green.

That was the first word that came to mind when I looked out my window. Green.

Green grass, green trees, green tree bark….The list goes on.

"Sweet, we're here," the social worker said from the front seat of the car. I cleared my throat and looked past the green to the houses.

"Where is here?" I ask quietly.

"La Push, Washington. It's a small reservation. This is where your step-brother lives with his wife, Sarah," she said softly, her words floating back to me.

I looked up, still holding back tears.

"Thanks," I say softly. I don't know if she heard.

"Your welcome," she says, her voice sincere. "Now, I'm not sure if you remember, but your brothers name is Chris."

She only said that because of the amnesia. The doctor said it's only temporary, and I do remember a lot more than I did four days ago.

I nod as I gently rub my hands against my upper legs; something I do when I'm nervous.

"Your stuff is already here, and the paper work is signed. Here he comes…I'll call you in a couple days to see how you're getting along," the social worker says, handing me a card.

"Thanks," I say again. "I'm sorry, what's your name again?"

"It's okay. My name is Anna Parker."

"Bye, Ms. Parker."

"Bye Kate. Good luck," she says as I get out and shut the door.

Wet.

That's the next word that comes to mind when I see this place.

"Kate!" Chris exclaims when he sees me. Her throws his arms around me. I hug him back. "I'm glad you're okay. Come on, let's get you inside," he says, grabbing my hand.

"Kate, this is my wife, Sarah," he says once we're inside. Sarah has soft blonde hair and gentle grey black eyes. She's a little shorter than me, and…well, she's pregnant.

"She's going to have a baby in a couple months. I'm not sure if you remember, but you've met her before."

"I'm sorry," I say. "I don't remember."

Chris and Sarah share a quick look.

I hate secrets. Or whatever they were doing that made them look at each other like that.

I walked away from them, trying to get a good breath in. I sank to the couch and kicked my shoes off. I curled into a little ball and closed my eyes. I started the song mom always sang to me, as I grew up.

'You are my sunshine, my only sunshine' I mumble as I drift off to sleep.

A/N: The next chapter will be longer, I swear! The next chapter might be written differently, since this is the first time I wrote a story like this. (Like writing 'Says' instead of Said)
