"Careful Madoka." Homura whispered.

Both of their hands, clasped together and intertwined tightly together. Madoka's eyes were covered with a thick eye mask and she was just like a blind bat. But Homura was there, guiding her along as they walked across the room.

Madoka smiled softly. She leaned towards Homura's side, their arm touching each other occasionally as they walked.

Not long later, she felt Homura had stopped walking and she followed as well. The hand around hers loosened and she could feel Homura's warmth leaving her. Before she could say anything, Madoka heard a group of people started singing.

"Happy Birthday to you!"

As everyone started singing in sync, Madoka quickly took out the eye mask that Homura had put on for her earlier on. Her pink eyes shimmered brightly against the candlelight and she broke into a huge smile. She turned towards Mami, Kyoko, Sayaka and finally Homura. They were singing merrily, and Madoka was happy too.

"Happy Birthday to you!"

"Happy Birthday to Madoka!"

"Happy Birthday to you!"

"Make a wish!"

"Yeah!"

Mami held the birthday cake closer to Madoka as she bring her two hands together and closed her eyes silently. After a few seconds, she opened her eyes and blew out the candles in delight.

After every clapped and Mami put down the cake, Sayaka nudged Madoka playfully before looking at Homura teasingly. "So what did you wish for this time." Sayaka chuckled.

Madoka blushed before shaking her head. "Definitely not what you think! But..." As the young innocent girl watched her four friends who had gathered around her, she gave the brightest smile she could muster.

"I wish that we can be friends forever! Just like this!"

Homura's lips slowly formed a smile. It was alright to dream, it was alright to think about the impossible. Even if they were not real, Homura didn't feel as lonely as she was suppose to be now.

Not long later, she could hear footsteps approaching towards her.

"Hey Homura, ready for another demon-hunt?"

She slowly opened her eyes and gazed down at the soft red ribbons in her hand. Taking in a deep breathe, she stood up from her spot and dusted her clothes, indicating that she was ready to leave for more battles.

"Happy Birthday Madoka." Homura whispered as she walked fairly slower behind her two comrades who were already ahead of her.

Homura would often think that the voices she heard in her head were just an imagination, but for the first time in her life, she choose to believe it today.

"Thank you, Homura-chan!"
