The cool October air kissed Hermione's cheeks as she descended the castle stairs she paused for a moment letting her thoughts consume her.

"Hard to believe it was only a month ago that I kissed Draco"

She thought of how soft his lips were against hers, for the moment that they had touched she felt nothing but fireworks and butterflies, how she wished she could do it again but she had not the courage to face him. Just this past month she had gone out of her way purposely avoiding him anytime possible except when she was forced to see him in potions with Slytherins.

Sighing Hermione trudged on; Ron and Harry were surprised when she had told them she needed to take a break from studying to clear her head, a long walk around the castle grounds out to do the trick. Hermione walked no more than ten feet down the stairs when she bumped into whom again?... The one and only person she has been trying to consciously avoid for the past month...Draco Malfoy.

"Granger watch where you're walking it's enough I have to walk in mud let alone have it bump into me" Draco said with a sneer.

"Oh really original Malfoy" Hermione started to prance around in a circle.

"Look at me I'm Draco Malfoy, my daddy is one of the richest men in the entire wizarding world! I'm so high and mighty nothing can touch me, I freak out if the slightest bit of mud touches my shoes!" Hermione mimicked in a high voice.

With a look that could make fire freeze over Draco walked towards Hermione.

"Granger, there are two things wrong with that statement, first of all that was a terrible imitation of my voice, and second of all I DO NOT FREAK OUT!" Shouted a very distressed looking malfoy.

"Alright Mr. Calm, cool and collect, if you don't freak out what do you call that little outburst?" Hermione asked with an eyebrow raised.

"Twas a moment of...of...ummm...to hell if I know!" retorted Malfoy.

They stared at each other for a moment, before Hermione burst into a fit of giggles.

"What's so damn funny!" asked Malfoy.

"Nothing you need to worry about" She said while wiping away the tears that had rolled down her face.

Hermione turned and started to walk away, that was until she heard...

"Hermione wait!" shouted Malfoy

Now it was her turn to be shocked what happened to "mudblood" and "granger" when the hell did they get on to a first name basis? Well apparently they did now! Dumbfounded she turned around to see a pair of deep silver eyes a mere three inches from her chocolate ones.

"I wanted to continue what you started a month ago, but you've been avoiding me for to long, but not anymore"

And with that said Malfoy softly pressed his lips into Hermione's. The kiss was longer this time, still as soft as the last but filled with more fire and passion. Hermione closed her eyes at the sensations that were flitting through her body, she brought her hands up to Malfoy's neck and entwined her fingers coaxing him closer to her, while he brought one hand to her long brown curls and the other to the small of her back. What seemed like hours to the two but in reality had only been seconds they parted.

"Well love, unlike what you told me a month ago...looks like I'm better than you" Malfoy said with a smile. And then with a wink he turned around and ran hooting with laughter. It took Hermione a moment before she realized entirely what had happened before she ran after him.

"Draco this isn't over! Not by a long shot!" She smiled to herself "Looks like this year is going to be better than I thought"
