The Girl Who Waited

Chapter 1

Bing!

My phone chirped at me, indicating that I had a new text message.

I unlocked it, and glanced at the screen.

1 New Text Message From Freddie Benson.

I opened the message up.

Hi!

I smiled at the small screen.

He has no idea that I wanted him and Sam to break up, that I was hoping they would.

He has no idea that I loved him.

I quickly shot back a text message.

Hey, Freddie!

I sat back down with a bowl of popcorn, watching the newest comedy on DVD.

Bing!

Hey Carly, we need to talk.

Does he know that I like him?

Oh, my, yes!

OK, What?

I can't tell you over text. Come over

K, be there in a second!

I ran upstairs and threw on my best casual outfit, quickly checked my hair and makeup, and slid across the hallway.

The door slowly opened up and he stuck his head out the door.

"Hello, Carly." He didn't sound as happy as usual, maybe because of the breakup.

"Hey, what'd you want to talk about?" I responded, hoping I could cheer him up.

"Well, you know how my mom got a new job? Well, apparently it's somewhere in Washington, DC. So, I have to move." He said reluctantly.

"NO! You can't leave! What about iCarly? What about Sam? What about ME? And by me I mean as friends, but what about me?" I shouted, pretty sure that everyone in the apartment could hear me.

"Sorry, but I have to. Maybe we could stay connected. Oh, and to top this whole mess off, my mom thought that texting is ruining my brain, so she's getting rid of my phone!" He said.

"Are you kidding me? Maybe we could still email!" I was so disappointed that he was moving.

"Okay. I'm leaving next week."

"I'll see you soon. I'll miss you so much." I hugged him tight and closed the door.

He's moving? But this will ruin my whole life!
