A/N:: Hello there! My first Scandinavia and the World fanfic, and of course it would involve little!Denmark. Hurr.

On to the story/oneshot/drabble/thing...

Denmark couldn't sleep.

His little figure was curled up into a ball underneath the covers, but his blue eyes were wide open, roaming around sightlessly. It was too dark, way too dark; what if that mean England or Finland or something bad came to get him?
Denmark squeaked softly at the thought and quickly wormed his way out from under the sheets, his bare feet hitting the hardwood floor with a light thump. He tiptoed over to his door, stretching up slightly to reach the doorknob and twist it quickly.

The door swung open smoothly, only creaking a little. Denmark stepped into the hallway, peeking around briefly at the still-unfamiliar house before darting off down the hall.

Norway was awoken by the sound of his bedroom door slowly creaking open. He propped himself up on one elbow, watching cautiously before a sandy blond head popped in the doorway.

"Norway?" a little voice squeaked, laced with fright and a sleepy Danish accent.
"Hm?" Norway responded groggily, flopping back down. He heard the door click shut and a small weight sprang onto his bed. "What is it, Denmark?" he sighed.
The tiny Dane fidgeted for a moment before piping up. "It's too dark!" he declared, puffing up his chest in faux bravery.
"Is that so?" Norway murmured, his eyes half-open in drowsiness.
Denmark nodded vigorously, not-so-subtly scooting closer to the Norwegian. "And-and there are monsters outside, Norway!"
"Monsters?" Norway let a small grin slide onto his face for a moment. "What kind of monsters?"
The Dane thought for a moment, his finger making its way to his mouth, before he plopped his hands in his lap and said "English and Finnish and Swedish monsters!"
Norway nearly suffocated himself trying to hold back an explosion of laughter. "The Swedish monster's sleeping, and the English monster is sleeping at his home too; like you should be. In your own room." he responded, deciding to play along momentarily.

Denmark pouted a bit, looking up at Norway with doleful eyes. "But-but if I go to sleep in my room, then they'll come to get me! If I stay in here, then we can fight them together!" he insisted, again scooting a bit closer to the genuinely sleepy Norwegian.

Norway rolled over onto his back, giving Denmark a once-over with half-lidded eyes. "…all right, then, but—" He hardly got a chance to finish before the little Dane dove down and burrowed against his side, curling up against the Norwegian.
"Thanks, Norway!" the little country chirped, his voice muffled against Norway's sleepshirt. He pulled the blanket over himself, cuddling closer to Norway before his breathing slowly began to even out.
Norway grinned slightly, although he was a bit confused as to how in the world Denmark could be hyper about monsters one moment, and nearly fast asleep the very next. He shook his head and pulled the blanket up a bit more, shifting a bit to get more comfortable (or as comfortable as one could get, with a tiny body huddling against them) before his eyes slid closed as well.

Ah, well. He'd get Denmark to stay in his own room some other time.
