Hello! This is my first story. Really hope that you like it. Should I make more chapters? Or should this be a oneshot? Please R&R!

Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto.

The world seemed to freeze in an instant for her. There was no sound. No light. No happiness. All that mattered was his body. It seemed to fall in slow motion for her eyes. The snake that killed him fell as another ninja hit it with a kunai. No one noticed the man who was so brave now coming to an end. The startled and pained look on his face seemed to be the only thing that was clear. The blood splattering from the cut on his chest made everything else seem gray. She was aware of her body moving, of her lips screaming his name. No sound reached her ears. Her brain couldn't process it. He couldn't be. As his body hit the ground with a thump, she knelt beside him and looked at his closed eyes. She feared for the worst as she felt for a heartbeat. She screamed for medics. None came. She felt a small beat against her fingers, and screamed louder. All the medics were busy, tending to the others. No one else noticed. They were to busy celebrating. Their enemy was dead. Who would care about one dead man. No matter how important he was. Her teardrops hit his face as frequently as a rainstorm. She stopped screaming for a second because her crying was making it difficult, and she heard something that was almost as faint as the drop of a pencil.

"Hey…don't cry. I'm still alive aren't I?" She looked down. One of his eyes was open and focused upon her face. Normally she would have begged him not to talk while she called for help, but her mouth wouldn't move. She was almost out of chakra so she couldn't teleport him to a hospital. He kept on talking and she forced herself to listen.

"We both know that I'm going to die. And I have something really important to ask you. So please let me say it. Okay?" She nodded mutely. He took a shuddering breath. "You know that if this war had never happened we would be having dinner right now. I know this isn't as romantic but it's the best time to ask. We have been dating for 4 years now. We've had bad times but mostly good ones. And I have loved you the entire time. So. Will you marry me?" He had said that rather quickly because he could feel his life slipping away. She didn't notice. She was stunned. She could feel again, and the sadness seemed non-existent. She smiled a smile that could make the sun shine through all the gloom in her heart.

"Yes. YES! I will marry you!" She hugged him and cried some more. She wanted to start talking about how happy she was and about the wedding plans but he whispered, "That's good to hear. Now I can leave in peace…" She had forgotten about his wound so it came as a shock to her when she couldn't feel his heartbeat against her chest anymore. She slowly ended the hug and looked once more into those eyes that would never shine again. She could the hear rejoicing but didn't care that Orochimaru was dead.. Sakura was hugging Sasuke. It seemed that he had killed him. No one cared about the now dead man beside her. She closed his eyes before whispering,

"Goodbye…. Naruto Uzumaki." And with that Hinata Hyuga picked up his body and made her way to the center of the crowd. After all they should know that their Hokage died. No matter how much they disliked the demon boy.
