Disclaimer: I know this plot sounds like "John Tucker Must Die," and it has the same baseline for the plot, but I will not be following the movie's plot line at all! I just think this would be an interesting story to write. :)
Max P.O.V.
"Again? Honestly, Max! That's the third one this year!" Nudge exclaimed.
"I know, I know," I said, sighing. "It's just… I couldn't do it. You know?"
Nudge gave me a skeptical look. "No, I really don't know. He's probably the hottest guy in our grade! I'm saying this to you as your best friend: you better start picking the right guys or soon all of them will hate you."
I scrunched up my nose. "Yeah, it's just… So hard. They seem right, but then they aren't."
Nudge rolled her eyes. "Well, you have very messed up judgment." She snorted, smiling a little, and I knew her mood was lightening up. "Who knew? My best friend, a heartbreaker."
I laughed as I smacked her. "Hmm….Max: the unintentional heartbreaker. It has a certain ring to it."
Fang P.O.V.
What an idiot. Was that guy really that pathetic that he had to trash his ex-girlfriend? Currently I could hear him talking to his friends, insulting some girl named Max. Everyone was listening attentively and laughing.
I rolled my eyes and turned back to Iggy. "Who's Max?" I asked him.
"Some chick that broke up with three boys in one year," Iggy replied while frantically doing his chemistry homework.
I nodded and turned back to my lunch, soon forgetting about Max and her exes.
Well, that is, only until she became the most important part of my life.
"Hey, you're Fang? Fang Render?" an unfamiliar voice questioned.
I looked up to see the boy who was insulting Max earlier. "Mhm."
"Heard you were quite the heartthrob. You interested in some extra cash?" he asked.
I perked up, listening more to what he was saying. I did need some extra money, or I wouldn't be able to afford college. Not with the money that my parents had set aside, which was close to nothing. "Depends on what I have to do and how much."
"Well, how about $900? Does that sound good?" he persuaded. "Not all from me, of course. Two other boys are in this, too."
My eyes widened. I knew most of the kinds in this school were rich, but what task would possibly make them pay nine hundred dollars to a stranger?
"I'm listening," I told him with curiosity.
"What you need to do is simple… Make Maximum Ride fall for you, and once you know she loves you unconditionally and irrevocably, crush her."
Dun, dun, duuuuun. Please tell me what you think! Sorry for the short chapter; just wanted to introduce everything.
