Best Years at Peach Creek Academy

Prologue:
Hello, to anyone that bothered to click on this story. This story, is my first fanfiction ever. So, I decided to write about my favorite cartoon from childhood, Ed, Edd n Eddy. I own none of the characters expect for James and his family. If you do enjoy this, give me a review, and tell me what I could do better in future fanfics. If you don't like it, again, write me a review of what you didn't like, so I can get better. Constructive criticism is always welcome, and I've learned how to ignore trolls, so don't bother. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this fanfic, and have a nice day.

I didn't want to move to Peach Creek when I first heard the news, but I see now that this was probably the best thing to happen to me. As a kid, I grew up in the big city of Detroit (the nice part, as my parents told me), and my dad worked as a professional mechanic for anyone wealthy enough and lazy enough to pay him. It was a high paying job, and we had a nice, large home and a summer home on an island in Lake Michigan. But, sadly, my dad got tired of working too much, and with the city going bankrupt, he decided moving would be the best for us.
Now, as any kid going into high school after the summer, I tried to force him to stay here, as I would lose all my friends. Against my will, I couldn't have a say in, nor could Katie, my 9 year old sister. My father spent almost all day and night, trying to find a small town to call our own. Yet no matter what he found, no town had everything we needed. Mom would need a grocery store nearby, Dad wanted a new sport bar to socialize at, and Katie HAD to have a Starbucks close by, or she'd just die of caffeine loss. But with me, I made up excuses, no matter how miniscule they were, like "Oh, well, I'll have to walk pretty far to school," or "I could get lost here, then get hurt, or worse!" Anything to get my father to stay, or move to a different town in the same state.
After a while, Dad got pretty busy on the search, and would rage at us if it wasn't perfect. It scared Katie and me, but we both knew we'd stay for sure. That is, until Dad got a call from an old college buddy. They mainly chatted about their team, the Huskers, and made jokes, which relieved tension off of my dad's tired, caffeine-powered body. It seemed like a normal talk, but when the call ended, Dad went to his desk, faster than usual, and was rapidly typing. I sat in my room, door open, to hear what Dad was doing. It wasn't until Mom had put dinner down, that Dad rushed in, shouting "I've found us a new town!" over and over again.
As he laid the stack of papers down, I saw a small little town center, with various shops, and brightly colored houses and neighborhoods. I had to admit, I did enjoy this town a bit more than the others, but it did not make me want to move. Everyone else seemed to enjoy it, with good things being thrown around, like fish at a New York market. Dad turned to me and asked, "Well, James, what do you think? Pretty nice, if I do say so myself. We'll have to thank Mr. Veras when we get there." I'd never heard of this person before, but I'm guessing it was his old college friend. Looking at it, I didn't want to leave, but I couldn't bear seeing my father any angrier. I sucked it up, and said "Looks great, Dad, I really am looking forward to moving." Now, I'm glad I had said that.
