Hero of the Dark and Light

Crying as the loss dawns on him, he can feel the hearts of all those who are free.

Easing into an eternal dream on a sea, and the playfulness of all to be.

He can see those who cannot be seen, the illusions of my madness ease the pain.

He can hear the voice of his mother Earth, and the memories are running through his veins.

A fight that cannot be won, a new danger with every rising sun.

A war that leads to hate, he cannot escape, a fool's errand to tame.

He fights on in spite, fighting for the good and the light.

A pure heart to drive out the darkness, and usher in a peace.

Lost in spire, flying higher, lost on the winds of the Earth that cries to me.

Learning lessons, life-blood lessons, it flows free from the corpse to be.

Light is fading, feeling jaded, running into an endless nightmare,

He hates it, He loves it, he thinks he'll spend one more night there.

Hero's tempted by mortal love, and his soul starts to go astray.

Eagles watch as the angels weep, he will fight for darkness after this day.

His blade falls, like the city walls, his army now conquers.

He abandoned the light, for a pleasure of sight, and he will die for this plight.

Hero rushes the lines; army follows behind, the crash of steel and the spark of guns.

Blood flies and death screams sound, as the enemy fires another round.

The sniper sees the hero stand, and rests the gun across his hands.

He takes aim and pulls the trigger, aiming for the head of the figure.

The hero stumbles and falls, body crumbles, and tries to crawl.

He dies in battle on that fateful night, extinguished for fighting light.

Cruel and endless is this life of ours, our soul forever to endure.

Life is pointless, just a tragedy, even when you pass through heavens doors.

Lessons learned and battles won, nothing will remain.

Dust and echoes, dirt and shadows, and a hero's name.
