A Good Night's Rest

Sinbad sat at the side of the Nomad watching the waves move and glisten against the moonlight.

Everybody was below deck resting, or at least the captain thought so.

"Is everything okay capt'n?" Bryn asked behind him.

"Ahh… I thought everybody was asleep," Sinbad panted holding his hand to his heart trying to slow it down.

"Sorry. I thought you heard me coming," she smiled playfully.

"Yeah right," the dark haired men shook his head, "I'm fine Bryn."

"You sure?"

"Yeah."

Bryn sat down next to the Sinbad and started watching the ocean.

"Are you fine, Bryn?" Turning to her.

"Yeah, I just can't sleep."

"Hmm… know that feeling."

"Well, I guess that means something is wrong," Bryn smiled.

Sinbad laughed loudly, "It seems your right."

The captain pulled Bryn into hug.

"Thank you, Bryn."

"For what?"

"For everything."

"Your welcome," Bryn replied turning herself around and leaned against the captain.

Quietly they sat together, Sinbad holding Bryn to his side.

"It's going to be morning soon," Bryn quietly announced.

"Mmm… the moon is setting."

Next Night:

Sinbad was again sitting watching the ocean.

Are you going to ask me if everything is alright again?" Sinbad asked without looking back.

"No, I already know why your up here," Bryn said as she approached.

"Maybe that isn't why I am up here."

"Then what is your reason?" Her eyebrow shot up as she sat down next to her captain.

"That's for me to know," he smiled at her.

"Hmm… and I guess I have to figure it out."

"You don't have to."

"But you won't tell," she interrupted.

"Unless you give me reason to. Oww!"

Sinbad rubbed his side where Bryn had elbowed him.

"My arm slipped," she smiled.

"Yeah right. Ah… Don't try it," he said grabbing her arms so she could not move and pulled her gently into his lap.

"Hey," Bryn exclaimed, while she tried to wiggle out.

"Sit still."

"Why?"

"Because I'm your captain and I said so."

"Fine," Bryn remarked as she relaxed into Sinbad.

She leaned her head to the side and let it rest on his shoulder.

"You know we both need sleep. Neither of us has slept in a couple of days," Sinbad murmured into Bryn's neck.

"Yeah. But I was told not to move."

"Then I'll have to move you."

"Guess so," she shrugged.

Sinbad easily stood up and adjusted Bryn in his arms. They moved below deck, but instead of letting Bryn go to her own room, Sinbad led her into his. Slowly he lowered her into the bed and crawled in beside her. Bryn turned on her side and pulled herself closer to the captain and fell asleep. Sinbad soon followed in suit.

Following Night:

Instead of going up deck Bryn walked into Sinbad's room, and saw the captain standing near a lamp.

"Aren't you going up?" Sinbad asked.

"Nope," she replied.

"Why?"

"Cause, for the first time in I don't know how long I finally had a good night's rest last night," she walked up behind him as she spoke.

Sinbad turned and found her right in front of him looking up.

"Really?" he whispered.

"Uh-huh," she responded confidently.

Wrapping his arms around Bryn's waist he pulled her to the bed.

"You wanna know something?" Sinbad asked after they had settled under the covers.

"What?"

"Last night was the first time I had a good nights rest also."

Smiling Bryn moved herself on top of the captain, and then leaned down softly pressed her lips against his. Deepening it further Sinbad turned to the side bringing Bryn with him.

"Good night, Bryn," the dark haired captain spoke as they broke apart.

"Mmm... good night Sinbad."

Bryn breathed a sigh of relief and snuggled against her captain. Knowing that she would never have to worry about not getting a good night's rest because she was exactly where she was supposed to be.
