The image of this little scene hit me right after I've read Protective written by MavenAlysse yesterday evening and it wouldn't let me go to sleep until I wrote it down, grinning and giggling all the time. It can be considered a sequel to that story. It's un-betaed and the only thing I used was a spell-check, but I hope there aren't too many mistakes in there.

All imaginable disclaimers apply, as this is just meant to entertain, so read & review.

And special thanks to MavenAlysse for giving me the permission to post this.

~*~Caught~*~

Walking down the pier after taking the phone from Ethan life couldn't have been better, at least that's what Benji Dunn thought with a grin on his face. That was until suddenly a hand shot out and grabbed his collar, dragging him into a secluded alcove and away from prying eyes. Before the former tech could fully comprehend what was happening he was face-to-face with a beautiful brunette glaring at him out of dark eyes.

"Give me one good reason why I shouldn't kill you." Her voice was husky with suppressed anger.

Benji was torn between confusion and fear, for he didn't know this woman, let alone what he possibly could have done to deserve her wrath.

And so he asked. "Could you tell me what I did wrong first?"

That was obviously not the right reply because with a growl she shoved him so that the back of his head hit the wall painfully.

"You know damn well what you did, sending him into that oven!"

The Brit paled considerably as suddenly realization struck, leaving him stammering. "I – I'm – I'm sorry, I – I – I didn't mean to – I thought - "

However before he could make his situation any worse than it already was a familiar voice sounded from behind his attacker.

"Benji, I did warn you."

And although William Brandt was grinning in amusement he took pity in his teammate's plight and laid a hand on his sister's shoulder. That simple contact and the unspoken message it conveyed resulted in the brunette letting go of Benji before turning around and embracing her twin-brother, muttering something too quite for the Brit to hear but earning a soft chuckle from the other man.

After several moments the siblings pulled apart and with a final glare from the sister and a wink from the brother they left the alcove and a very bewildered Benji Dunn.
