Note: If I had to guess, someone else has probably already written something like this drabble, but... I couldn't find it. So, here's the ficlet that I wrote to illustrate my idea of what Fakir might do after the end of the series.

Fakir gazed out at the brilliant blue water, watching the sunlight glimmering on its surface, dancing around a certain golden duck. The duck, previously a human girl known as Ahiru, simply swam around in various patterns, enjoying the simplicity of her life.

Fakir, however, was miserable. Although he thought himself mad for it, he desperately missed the clutsy girl with her squeaky voice. He even missed her crazy pink hair. But... she seemed happy as a duck. She was her real self. How could he ever take that away from her? Besides, he was still inexperienced with writing stories into reality-he wouldn't risk messing something up and hurting her. He would simply have to live his miserable life as a hermit, sitting by the lake each day, writing or watching his only friend float around.

What a pathetic life. And yet, he couldn't bring himself to do anything else.

If only he could be more like Ahiru. She was so content with everything. If only...

At that moment, Fakir stood up and ran back to his home, leaving the yellow duck squawking in confusion.

The next day, Fakir was nowhere to be seen. And when Fakir failed to show up at home that night, his guardian, Charon, scoured the town and surrounding area. Still, the man found no trace of the boy and no one seemed to know what happened.

Eventually, Charon was forced to give up the search for his adopted son. It was hard, but he could do nothing else. He simply took comfort in going to the pond where the boy had spent much of his time, hoping he would reach some revelation or find a clue. And so, Charon would gaze out at the brilliant blue water, watching the sunlight glimmer on its surface, dancing around a golden duck and her ink black mate.

This is meant to be taken lightly, so don't feel too bad for Charon, okay? Also, if you feel inclined to review, I mostly want to know... do you think it's possible? Would Fakir turn himself into a duck? (If he can... I can't really remember if Fakir is able to write his own story or not.)
