You may not know who I am, but must know about my brother, Darkstar. He was leader of our clan. But I had a kit of my own to raise. He was very strong as a kit, and I decided to name him Stormkit. Even though I could not see the color of his pelt, I knew that he would be a great warrior one day. I was right, and he reached the age of being an apprentice shortly before the dark clouds began to hit near our territory.
On the night of my death, I was going to show Stormpaw around twolegplace under my watch. I was his mentor, after all. The sound of thunder echoed through the sky. We saw a dark cloud slowly begin to land on the ground, destroying everything in their path. The wind became stronger as I realized that the dark cloud was coming for us.
"Run, Stormpaw!" I begged to my apprentice. But he froze in either fear or wonder, his eyes focused on the storm in front of us. I realized that I had to do something before we got hurt. I simply stood beside Stormpaw.
"So, this is one big storm, isn't it?" I asked him. He nodded back to me, and we let the dark cloud take us.
We tried to keep our eyes open, but the winds were so strong. When we did manage to open them, we saw monsters and pieces of twoleg nests in the storm. We managed to hold onto a monster that was lifeless as the storm released us from their grip. We fell to ground, and Stormpaw called for my help. Something in the dark cloud had scratched his pelt. But the dark cloud had injured me badly as well. We weakly escaped the debris and tried to make it to DarkClan's camp, but I suddenly lost all my strength. I fell to the ground.
"Stormpaw...I know you can make it back." I told him, "But I have to stay here."
He was in tears. "No, I can't leave you behind!"
The final moments of my life were spent with Stormpaw beside my body. As my final breath came out, I saw my mother and my brother, Tooth.
"We cannot roam together in the same forest, but we can roam on the forest's edge." Tooth told me.
"But...what about Stormpaw?" I asked him.
"Don't worry, Ninjapelt. You can still watch him from the dark forest's shadows."
