Drawing

Narcissa sighed sadly when she walked into Draco's bedroom and found him sitting on his bed drawing.

Her four-year-old son didn't see or hear her as he drew but Narcissa remained standing in the doorway watching. She was reminded of something from her own childhood.

When she was little and she'd drawn a picture she was proud of she would go and find her sisters to show them.

Bellatrix would barely glance at it and mutter 'that's nice', before turning back to their parents.

Andromeda would look up from whatever book she was reading and take the picture and smile. She'd comment on how bright it was or say that it was her best yet before getting up and placing on the mantelpiece.

And when her friends came over, Andromeda would point it out saying 'it was her little sister's latest masterpiece' making Narcissa feel ten feet tall.

Narcissa sighed again as she walked back to her own bedroom and she forced the memory away, as she tried in vain, to forget her eldest sister.
