I'm really surprised that there aren't more Yumekui Merry fanfics. I thought it was a good anime, even though the last episode felt kind of rushed. I love Yumeji x Merry, so here's a little short story for the pairing. I hope you enjoy! :)

Merry quietly opened Isana's bedroom door and peeked into the hallway. All the lights were turned off as it was evening and everyone was fast asleep. Merry quietly stepped outside Isana's room and closed the door behind her gently, making sure not to wake up Isana.

"Alright, now nothing can stop me!" Merry thought, a mischievous grin spreading across her face.

Merry softly tiptoed down the hall towards the stairs. The stairs would quietly creek as she made her way down, which scared her, but thankfully, no one woke up.

When Merry got to the last step, she made a quick dash towards the kitchen. A cat-like grin emerged on her face, when she saw that the doughnut box that Isana brought was still on the counter. Everyone had one after dinner, but there was still one left.

"The last doughnut shall be mine!" Merry said, feeling pumped.

As she opened the doughnut box, she saw that it was empty.

"Huh?" Merry wiped her eyes, thinking that they were playing tricks on her, but when she checked again, she noticed the last doughnut was indeed missing.

"It's gone? But that's impossible…"

"Merry, you're still up at this time of night?" she heard a familiar voice ask.

As Merry looked towards the direction the voice was coming from, her green eyes widened once she saw who it was. There Yumeji stood, his mouth covered in crumbs. In one of his hands was the last doughnut. Merry couldn't believe what she was seeing and took a step back in shock.

"Y-Yumeji, what are you eating?"

Yumeji looked to the doughnut in his hand which was almost half finished. "Oh, I was getting hungry and I found this doughnut." He looked to Merry and noticed her angry expression.

"...Did you want this doughnut, Merry?" Yumeji asked in a sudden realization.

"Of course I wanted the doughnut! That was the last one!" Merry yelled as she pounded at his chest.

Yumeji sighed and rubbed Merry's head, causing the hood to her yellow pajamas to fall off. Merry whined at the touch, her green eyes slowly looking up to meet Yumeji's brown ones. Yumeji stopped rubbing her head at that moment and looked into Merry's eyes. An awkward silence filled the air before Yumeji and Merry moved away from each other. Both were blushing from the awkward situation. Merry played with her fingers nervously.

"Umm…"

Yumeji glanced over his shoulder at Merry.

"Y-yes, Merry?"

"Can I…have a taste?" Merry asked, quietly.

As Yumeji turned around to give Merry the half doughnut in his hand, Merry pounced on him, causing him to fall over.

"M-Merry, what's wrong?" Yumeji asked in confused tone.

His eyes widened as Merry leaned in closer towards his face. Merry licked the doughnut crumbs near the corner of his mouth. She then sat up, her cheeks red from embarrassment.

"It's chocolate…" Merry whispered, softly.

Yumeji went silent for a moment, but then smiled tenderly at Merry. "Yeah…"

Yumeji sat up, with Merry sitting in his lap. He broke the doughnut in another half and handed a piece to her. As they walked back upstairs, munching on the doughnuts, Yumeji looked towards Merry. He noticed there were crumbs near her lips and felt the heat rush to his cheeks immediately. He quickly looked away, slowly bringing a hand to the corner of his mouth.

"She wouldn't let me...would she?"

Merry noticed Yumeji was acting a bit strange and slowly held his left hand with her right.

"Yumeji?" Merry called to him, concerned.

Yumeji took a deep breath before turning towards Merry, a determined expression on his face. He placed one hand on her shoulder, leaning in slowly towards her lips. Yumeji gently licked the crumbs near the corner of her mouth. He then quickly walked to his bedroom, blushing uncontrollably and went inside.

Merry stood in the middle of the hall in a daze. She touched the corner of her mouth and blushed softly.

"Doughnuts really are amazing..."
