Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter, the great J. K. Rowling does.
A/N: Just something that popped into my head one night and I thought I'd share it with you guys. Hope you enjoy!

Hermione awoke screaming in her four poster bed in the girls' dormitory. Sweat was trickling down her forehead as she came back to reality. She looked down in her lap to find a tabby cat.

"Professor." Hermione smiled as the cat moved to the edge of the bed and morphed silently into her human form.

"Hermione, are you okay?" Minerva whispered.

"Just a nightmare, mom," Hermione whispered not to wake the other girls.

"Come on kitten." Minerva stood and helped her daughter to the common room. Minerva threw some floo into the fire and stepped through with Hermione into their room where Albus and Severus were talking animatedly.

"Hermione!" Severus gasped. He stood and embraced his lover. "Are you okay?"

"It was just a nightmare," Hermione whispered, hugging her lover back, making sure he was real.

"Let's get you to bed."

"I want to stay with Severus, mom."

Minerva nodded. "I'll go and start the fire up." Minerva squeezed Hermione's shoulder and set off.

"Thanks, mom," Hermione again whispered as she melted further into Severus' arms.

"Let's get you into bed, petal."

Hermione nodded as her eyes started to close. Slowly, Hermione dragged her feet to her bedroom with her lover behind her. When Hermione was lay between the sheets, she held her lovers' hand.

"Stay?" Hermione whispered up to him.

Severus nodded and (already in his night clothes) slipped between he sheets. Hermione quickly snuggled into his side and Severus held her protectively to him as she started to doze.

Only after a few hours, Hermione started to stir, so, he held her slightly tighter and whispered words of love into her ear.

"Severus?" Hermione's voice was chocked and soft.

"I'm here petal. It's just a nightmare. I'm not going anywhere."

"Please don't leave me," Hermione whispered through her tears.

"I promise petal." Severus kissed Hermione's forehead and whispered softly into her ear, "It was just a nightmare." Before he gave into exhaustion.

The end.
