Movies depict the event as a horror film. You see a man screaming. You see a woman screaming and sobbing enough to make you think she belongs in a mental institution. You see crowds of people fighting back and forth. You see the horror as the movies depict the event.
Books illustrate the event as an amazement. You read of the wonder in the worst of it all. You read of things that today couldn't happen. You read of what would be in today's ENQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW MAGAZINE as the books illustrate the event.
But my friends I was there. Let me tell you what I saw. It wasn't at all how you would have expected it to be. I saw a man representing a flower only beginning to blossom and another man seeming to be a foot trying to stomp out that flower. That was when I saw twelve beautiful daises protecting the flower not letting anything but the cool gentle rain touch it. I heard a voice telling them that it would be easier for them if the flower was destroyed but they retorted that he was there friend and they loved him. They would grow in time and didn't need that extra space to help them grow. At that moment I saw the sun come out smiling gently upon us all letting us know we were all welcomed.
So you see my friend the miracle isn't in finding the wonder in the worst of it all. The miracle is in love, friendship and an understanding and acceptance of one another. You are all that and more. That is why I love you.
