Ok, so this is my first story. It's called Best Friends and it's a Les Miserables fanfic. I did add one character, Carrie. And there is no Enjolras or Cosette. Hope you like it!
Best friends: chapter one
Eponine's POV:
I walk down the street as rain coats my body, covering up the thin layer of grime. I am headed from my house, if you could call it a house, to my best friend's house. Out of all three of us, I am definitely the poorest. My father owns a inn. I have one sister, Azelma, and three brothers, the youngest of which is Gavroche. My name is Eponine Thenardier. Caroline's house is the one I'm going to. Marius is coming too. Marius...my Marius. I love him. But he does not love me, so why take the chance of him telling me off? I do not tell. The only one I've told is Carrie. "Ponine!" I hear his voice, and turn to face him. He is holding his bag above his head so that his face stays dry. When he sees me soaking wet, he pulls me into him. I am dirty, wet, and smelly, but he doesn't care. Because that's the kind of friend he is. "Marius! Ponine!" Carrie's soft voice floats above the pitter-patter of the rain and we hurry to her door. She sweeps us in and wraps a blanket around my shoulders. Suddenly there is a warm cup of tea in my hand and Carrie's mother hurries out side and into the rain. "Mama!" Carrie calls after her. "Just to the market, dear." She disappears into the fog.
"So, what is wrong?" Carrie and I are sitting on her couch, Marius on the floor in front of the fire in the fireplace. "Nothing." I say, shivering slightly and taking a small sip of my tea. "C'mon, 'Ponine." Marius rubs his hands together and smiles at me. "It's nothing guys." I get up and go into the kitchen and put my mug in the sink. I can hear the two of them murmuring in the living room. "She'll tell us when she's ready," says Carrie. "But I want her to tell us now!" Marius replies. I walk back into the room and their conversation stops. I sit next to Carrie again, and she pulls me into a hug. "What?" I ask, surprised. "I don't know." She pulls away, a huge smile on her face. I smile back. Marius laughs, and we both look at him. He just laughs again.
