Silence
I hear it all around
As I think of him
My ears are burning from the sound of nothing
His voice floats to me
I hear a strangled cry
The bitter laughter from his mouth
I feel the tears spring from my eyes
The lifeless body of our teammate falls
His hair, once so vivid,seems bland
His eyes, once so bright, seem dull
But the smile on his face is eternal
He smiles even in death, knowing that he tried, and failed yet again
The battle scene before me grows
Brother against brother, hate and solitude against vengance and loneliness
The blows are angry and violent
The hatred is in every punch they throw
Keeping up with his elder sibling
The elder suddenly stops and smiles with blood running out of his mouth as his brother plunges the sword through him
He's gone
Gone is the hate towards him
Gone is the vengance
Gone is his only family
Scenes flash through his head and he screams
But all I hear is silence
