Hello everyone, I'm gunna try to get the bloody authors note done quickly here...Thankyou for choosing to read this and to those who had already been reading it I did some MAJOR construction on it but now I'm back, so, sorry... I own nothing related to The Legend of Zelda. Onto the Story!_
Link let his gaze move across the room and back again, searching for any sign of the beast-the man-or whatever form that thing had decided to take. It was useless though, He could hardly see his own hands in the dimly lit chamber let alone something bathed in darkness. He couldn't rely on sound either, as the creature was as silent as a Gerudo thief in the night, in fact, the only sounds that could be heard in the arena was the occasional shout from one of his comrades, no doubt falling victim to the monstrosity. He had counted two screams already, meaning he and one other were the only ones left alive, the only ones left to stop this.
The next scream came quicker than Link had thought and chills ran up his back, he recognized this one, the unpleasantly shrill noise belonged to Ashei.
"Just me" he whispered as his ears rang, however the quietness of his tone being effortlessly drowned out by the echoes of the scream.
Suddenly, a bright fiery-violet ball lit up the room, soaring directly at Link with indescribable speed.
He didn't have to think about his next move and instinctively raised his shield, blocking the attack but still suffering all its agonizing pain as his shield absorbed the intense heat of the flames.
The creature was relentless, and in another moment, two more fireballs flew like a blur toward Link, and if possible, faster than the last.
Link moved quickly, this time dodging the fireballs and using the light they provided to find his attacker. Now taking a form similar to a wolfos, only, as Link noted, at least twice as large as any he'd seen, garnishing a pure black coat, rare amongst wolfos, but even it seemed to hold something different to it, an otherworldliness in its color.
However both of these were quickly forgotten as Link's eyes met the beasts and for the first time they gazed into eachother. Its menacing yellow eyes seeming to pierce Link's soul and exploit all his biggest fears and most painful memories.
It took some effort, but he brought himself back to reality in time to dodge another fireball, twice as big as the last.
After Link dodged this one the creature pounced, flying through the air and toward his position, he used this to his advantage, and lunged shield first towards the beast. A loud clanging sound came next, the beast had collided head on with Links shield, just as planned.
But that's when the beast did the unexpected, instead of falling to the ground or letting out a howl of pain, it simply vanished into a black mist and in another second it was behind Link, its form now resembling a featureless man consisting of the same otherworldly black as the wolfos. It wasted no time, sending a powerful gust of wind that forced Link back, smashing him violently into a wall as all the light around him abruptly died.
"Did you really think a group of mortals could bring about my demise?" The man taunted in a language Link knew definitely wasn't Hylian, but strangely understood every word. A psychotic laugh came next as the man began to close the distance between them.
"You are brave, I'll give you that. But bravery has no place amongst the dead." The man seemed to enjoy this, watching as Link struggled to his feet, a broken arm where his shield used to be, the force of the wind having inhumanly twisted it when it violently ripped his shield away.
He hadn't noticed this though, his mind now solemnly set on bringing the man to his knees.
A bright golden glow caught Links attention, it was the master sword, laying not fifty feet to his right. He began a mad dash for his sword, gaining a handful of ground before the man caught on and lodged another fireball at Link and in a split second, it made contact. Skimming his left leg and taking a good portion of skin with it. A shout escaped him like his comrades before him, but he wasn't done, he wouldn't give up now—He couldn't.
Links sprint slowed down dramatically with this new adaption, it had become a fast limp and increasingly difficult as more and more projectiles flew in his direction, forcing him to painstakingly dodge them.
His sword was almost in reach, and with one desperate dive, finally in his grasp. He rose to his feet, and, much to his delight, instead of firing once more and ending his journey there, the creature stalled. Turning once again into a black mist the creature rushed him.
It quickly came into reach and Link thrust the master sword with all his remaining strength. "For Ordon!" The words escaped his mouth just before the mist abruptly seized.
Link was locked in this position, the master sword still fervently glowing in his outstretched arms, unable, or perhaps unwilling, to move.
A sharp pain cruelly broke this state and Link dropped the master sword in reaction. The pain grew stronger, and blood now soaked his tunic.
"It's over..." He uttered, feeling the life rapidly drain from him, and in another moment, like the master sword and all of his comrades before him, he fell to the cold unforgiving floor. His last thoughts being relief that Hyrule was once again saved, and even though he would not be there to see it, it was once again at peace...
Link's eyes opened, his mind was in a daze, his vision blurry and his body aching. As far as he could tell he was nowhere, as all he saw was pure orange light.
He reached down to tend to the gaping hole in his abdomen. Wha...He hole was gone, back to its original state of skin without so much as a scar, his arm was healed too, he was confused, a break like that would take months to heal.
He rose from the ground and his vision began to clear, although not enough to be helpful, he could make out several lines now, evenly apart in straight rows that overlapped the source of light.
He reached out to touch one of them, then another, they were cylindrical in form and felt cold in contrast to the heat of his hands.
A legion of thoughts came like an assault on his mind, violently passing from one to another in a frantic attempt to deny the obvious. He was in a cell, and, as much as it pained him to admit, he was a prisoner.
"Where am I" He asked to no one in particular, or perhaps to himself.
"Ah you have waken daemon" Link froze as a deep and strange voice answered.
Dun Dun Dun! Cliffhanger! Anyway as you can see from the text I may have to explain a few things here and there considering Link's predicaments...Oh and I forgot to say it up there but this story is not my primary focus, it'll be a side thing until I'm finished with my other one currently in the works...so if you really want me to update this incredibly fast...You've been met with a terrible fate, haven't you? A fate of wait.
