Across The Sea
Chapter 1
A/N: Hey guys! So apparently I erased this story from my memory and I don't remember what I wrote or what the story line was, but it was requested so I'm going to try to wing it. Remember to check twitter for some updates.
February 7th, 1964
Today was a day that would go down in history. It was the day that the Beatles made their first appearance in the United States of America. They were just getting ready to board the plane to go to New York, and they were bringing John's wife, Cynthia with them.
"You excited boys?" John asked a mischievous glint in his eyes.
"Yeah," replied Paul and Ringo. George appeared to be sleeping,
"Should we wake him," Ringo asked.
"No, let him sleep until we need to board the plane. This is going to be a long tour, he needs his rest." Advised Paul.
30 minutes later…
"Time to wake up, Geo!" John shouted in his ear. "The plane is here!"
"Alright, alright!" he grumbled. "Don't need to shout it."
"Sorry," John replied. "But you can sleep on the flight.
As soon as they got on the plane, George climbed into his seat next to Paul and slept for a few hours. When he woke up, he felt really dizzy.
"What's wrong, George?" Paul asked.
"Dizzy," he replied, short of breath.
"Probably just airsickness," shouted John from across the aisle. "Go back to sleep."
"You'll be fine, Geo," Paul said, patting him on the back and smiling.
And with those words, George fell back into another deep sleep.
George woke up with a start.
"Are we there yet?" he asked Paul
"Only another hour to go." Paul replied.
"Thank God," he replied.
In the five hours that he'd slept, he noticed that his throat had become quite sore, and he was experiencing other symptoms as well. He decided not to say anything, he was probably just really tired.
"You should go back to sleep, " Ringo said from behind them.
"Yeah, I think I will," George replied with a weak smile.
One hour later, they had finally landed in New York. There was a ginormous crowd or screaming girls, holding up signs for them. This was the kind of thing that reminded them that they were really living the dream.
"How are we going to get out there?" John asked Mel with concern.
"I'll call security, I'm sure they have a plan for you guys like usual." Mel replied.
Their security had set up a tent like tunnel for them to run through, so that they could get to the press conference without anyone getting hurt. The press conference was absolutely huge, and John and Paul were elated. There was nothing they liked more than talking their heads off at press conferences. Ringo liked to chime in with his usual childish jokes, and George would occasionally add a more serious comment.
"Could you please sing something?"
"No!" They answered in unison.
"No, we need money first," said John.
"How many of you are bald and have to wear those wigs?"
"All of us" They replied.
"Yeah, we're all bald," replied Paul
"Don't tell anyone"
"I'm deaf and dumb too," wisecracked John.
"Are You For Real?"
"Come and have a feel," answered John.
"Are you going to get a haircut at all?"
"I had one yesterday," replied George.
"What do you think your music does to these people?"
"It pleases them I think," answered Ringo.
George looked down at the ground and coughed. This was going to be a long day.
After they'd been asked some more questions, they sat outside the terminal and waited for their dispatched cars, which were to take them to the Plaza Hotel. The other boys joked around, while George leaned back and closed his eyes.
"You alright," Ringo asked, his drooping blue eyes filled with concern.
"Yeah, me throat's a bit sore from all the talking, that's all," George replied.
The other boys looked at each other in concern. George had barely been talking unless he needed to answer a question. The cars had arrived, so they decided to just brush it off.
John, Paul and Ringo had been separated from George, because He was going in the other car with Brian. When they got back to the hotel, they made sure to check up on him again.
"Guys, I'm totally fine," George said in frustration. "Stop acting like me mums,"
"Alright, Geo," replied Paul. "But you need to let us know if anything gets worse,"
George agreed and they all settled down in front of the telly while they waited until it was safe for them to go out. But still, George said nothing.
A/N: Whew! I finished the chapter finally. And you know what's funny, is that I'm kinda sick myself, I blame George! Feel free to review, and I'll talk to you guys later
